Bandi Namco and Reflector Entertainment have made public an eight-minute long video showcasing gameplay for Unknown 9: Awakening.
The video is narrated by Christophe Rossignol, who is the Creative Director at Reflector Entertainment, the game’s developer. In this video, Rossignol discusses the various combat styles in the game, ranging from stealthy approaches to all-out destruction. He highlights how the stepping mechanic is utilized, allowing Haroona to command her enemies and position them strategically for an edge in battle.
Bandai Namco reveals that in this video, Haroona’s journeys to various destinations like the Mauritanian desert and the Indian jungle are displayed, along with some early game abilities unlocked during gameplay, offering a fresh glimpse into Haroona’s globetrotting experience.

Haroona, as a Quaestor gifted with the ability to traverse between our world and the enigmatic plane called the Fold, embarks on a journey in search of hidden wisdom. As she hones her skills to tap into the Fold’s powers and bring them to our realm, she unwittingly attracts the attention of a radical group called the Ascendants. These individuals covet the Fold’s influence to manipulate human history to their liking.
Here’s some of the key features for the game:
- Become Haroona – Play as a young and courageous woman who has the ability to dive into and channel powers from a parallel dimension known as the Fold.

- Journey across the world – From the sands of Mauritania and perilous Indian jungles to the gothic landscapes of 19th century Portugal, discover some of the most mysterious locations the world has to offer.
- Discover the Unknown 9 universe – Unknown 9: Awakening lies at the heart of intertwining stories, unfolding through a multitude of Unknown 9 products whose events and characters make up a much larger Storyworld.
As an avid gamer, I’m excitedly anticipating the upcoming release of “Unknown 9: Awakening.” Although a definitive launch date hasn’t been set in stone just yet, we can look forward to playing this game on our PS4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PCs via Steam around autumn 2024.
