The Elbaf arc of One Piece was bound to present fans with incredibly potent Devil Fruits, given its foundation on Norse mythology. It was clear that numerous Mythical Zoan powers would manifest in some form during this arc. Indeed, Eiichiro Oda acknowledged the challenge and successfully fulfilled fan expectations by unveiling highly powerful Mythical abilities right from the start of the arc, with even more on the horizon.
Through the efforts of the Holy Knights, comic readers have been introduced to a host of formidable adversaries, among them Saint Killingham Rimoshifu, who is famed for wielding the mythical Devil Fruit power known as Kirin. In chapter 1143 of One Piece, the nature of Killingham’s Devil Fruit, Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, was at last disclosed to fans, leaving them awestruck by its extraordinary capabilities, as one would expect.
Killingham’s Mythical Zoan — Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin

- A Dragon Devil Fruit
- Awakened By Killingham
In One Piece chapter 1140, I stepped foot in Elbaf for the first time, and it was there that Oda chose to reveal my unique ability – subtly at first, only through its appearance. You see, I had already transformed into my hybrid form upon arrival, a clear sign to fans that I possessed a Mythical Zoan Kirin Devil Fruit. It’s an exciting moment for any One Piece fan, unveiling the power hidden within me!
Good job, Killingham! You’ve put them to sleep already. — Sommers
In One Piece chapter 1143, it was made clear by Oda that his Devil Fruit is indeed the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Mythical Model: Kirin. The Kirin Devil Fruit is undeniably potent, and its power leaves no room for argument. This unique fruit grants the user the ability to transform into a Kirin, while also harnessing all the abilities associated with this mythical creature. As the Kirin has been portrayed differently in various contexts, fans had some doubts about its true potential. However, Oda has now provided more insights into the workings of this Devil Fruit.
States Of Transformation
Since the Kirin Devil Fruit is a mythical Zoan type, it’s not surprising that it grants Killingham the ability to metamorphose into a Kirin. In other words, Killingham possesses three distinct forms:
- Human Form: Just like all the Zoans, Killingham can simply assume his human form and in some cases, certain Devil Fruit users can still utilize abilities of their Devil Fruit power in the human form. For now, Killingham’s human form remains unseen.
- Full Beast Form: This form would see Killingham turn fully into a Kirin. This would give him all the power boosts that the Devil Fruit offers, such as enhanced strength, speed, durability of a dragon, immense endurance, stamina, and recovery rate, among many other things. His unique powers should also be accessible to him in this form.
- Hybrid Form: As with all Zoans, the hybrid form is the most exciting one, and it is also the one with the highest usability. To put it simply, the hybrid form of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin allows Killingham to take on a human-kirin hybrid. This is the state that Killingham is usually seen in. It offers him all the powers of the full transformation but in a humanoid body.
Hey there! Here’s a fun way I’d put it: “Listen up! There’s more to using a Devil Fruit than just the basics. In extraordinary situations, hidden powers can surface!” – Boa Hancock (channeling Doflamingo’s spirit)
Devil Fruit Awakening

Even though a white scarf around one’s neck doesn’t definitively mean Devil Fruit Awakening for everyone, it’s plausible that Killingham has undergone this transformation. If so, fans should bear in mind that Killingham possesses an additional form beyond his current one. Identifying awakened transformations can be tricky, though. For example, Yamato wears a white scarf but isn’t yet awakened, and it seems Killingham has not activated his awakening either. If he does, his new form would grant him an additional transformation that significantly enhances his abilities.

The Power To Turn Dreams Into Reality
The unique ability of Killingham’s Mythical Zoan fruit has now been revealed to fans. Essentially, Killingham has the power to put individuals to sleep and then enter their dreams, extracting any element from them and making it real in the physical world. For example, when he made the Giant children fall asleep, he took their nightmares out of their dreams and turned them into reality. In a similar manner, as seen in One Piece chapter 1143, Killingham caused Sommers to sleep, entered his dreams, and extracted salt from it, making it real. This Devil Fruit grants him unlimited powers. Whatever anyone, even Killingham himself, dreams of can be brought into reality.
