Legendary guitar brand Gibson is teaming up with accessory manufacturer CRKD to launch two innovative gaming controllers modeled after the iconic Gibson Les Paul guitars. These controllers are compatible with various gaming platforms and consoles, making them perfect for gamers looking to play classic rhythm games like Guitar Hero or modern titles such as Fortnite Festival.

Back in the peak of their popularity, guitar controllers were essential for games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Even though many fans continue to enjoy these games and would welcome replaying them or their spiritual successors, over time, numerous controllers that came with these games have either malfunctioned, gone missing, or been damaged. This has led to a resurgence of interest in guitar controllers.

Gibson and CRKD have recently revealed two fresh controllers tailored for rhythm games with a guitar theme. The CRKD Gibson Les Paul Guitar controllers are available in two styles: the LP Black Tribal Encore Edition and the LP Blueberry Burst Pro Edition. While there are some variations between these models, such as their color schemes and overall design, they share several key features. These include Hall Effect analog navigation sticks, compatibility with both wired and wireless connections, RGB lighting, a tilt sensor, an ergonomically designed D-Pad situated at the rear of the headstock, and a detachable neck that can be upgraded.

Among the two options, the Black Tribal Encore Edition stands as the more affordable one, priced at $109.99 for the multi-platform version and $119.99 for the Xbox/PC exclusive variant. The Black Tribal Edition retains a traditional rubber membrane fret system and mechanical strum bar, offering a familiar gaming experience reminiscent of classic Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments.

On the other hand, the Blueberry Burst Pro Edition is priced at $119.99 for the standard version and $129.99 for the Xbox/PC-specific variant. This edition boasts mechanical fret buttons and a Hall Effect strum bar with haptic feedback. Both editions can be pre-ordered currently, with an estimated delivery in June 2025. Pre-orders come with a unique purple-orange ombre guitar strap and a collector’s pin.
