One fantastic aspect of “The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered” is that the relationship between the length of a quest and its associated rewards isn’t always directly proportional. Occasionally, a seemingly short quest can yield valuable prizes that significantly aid the player during their adventure.
Regarding The Killing Field, this mission is swiftly finished due to minimal challenges, mainly battling several goblin waves. However, the ultimate prize makes it a worthwhile endeavor, provided you execute it flawlessly.
Starting The Killing Field In Oblivion Remastered
To begin your journey, head to the Grey Mare Inn, which can be found in the city of Chorrol. Enter through the South Gate and once inside, turn right. The first structure you’ll encounter on your right is the inn. Inside, you’ll meet a man named Valus Odiil, who has gray hair and seems worried about his sons. He might require your assistance.
Speak with Valus and assure him that you’ll aid his boys in battling the aggressive beings. Now, your map has been marked with the whereabouts of his children. Make your way there and converse with one of the sons, who will guide you towards Odiil Farm.
How To Get Chillrend
As soon as my teammates join me, the battle commences. Waves upon waves of Goblins, three to four in each, will storm the Odiil Farm from various directions. Remember, our top priority should be shielding our teammates at all times if we hope to claim Chillrend in the endgame. If any of us fall, our reward will shift from Chillrend to mere Gold. Hence, it’s crucial to move swiftly and eliminate these foes before they can even set foot on the farm and reach our team inside.
After the fight concludes, make your way back to the Grey Mare Inn and share all details with Valus. If both his sons survive the battle, Valus will grant the player a magical short sword called Chillrend, which boasts a power of 3. This sword is one of the top choices for the early game, functioning superbly in combination with a shield during combat.
If one of Valus’ sons perishes in battle, you’ll receive 75 Gold coins as a reward. Remember to save your game before the farm battle commences. This way, if any son dies during combat, you can swiftly reload your saved game instead of having to trek back to the farm after each failure – a process that can be tiresome and time-consuming without an auto-save before the fight.
