Titled “Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter“, this new adventure finds me, as player character Arlo, squaring off against the sinister Dark Wings that have cast a shadow over my homeland. With its intricate combat system and immersive world-building, this game builds upon its predecessor by introducing fresh characters, engaging side quests, and novel perils to navigate.

In the second primary zone, once you’ve wrapped up the main quest, players will encounter a character named Ernest who is in search of his misplaced Fishing Rod. Here’s a guide on how to help him find it again and gather additional bonuses in the process.

Where To Find Herons Fishing Pole In Tails Of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter

Once you’ve accomplished your primary task, all Travel Spots within the region will be accessible to you, making it easier for you to traverse the map more swiftly. Descend the lift in Nestminster and make your way left towards the bridge adorned with a bell on top, which you fired upon when initially receiving the Bow. There, you’ll encounter Ernest, the fisherman, who informs you that he’s lost his fishing rod in a well.

Finding The Pole & Acquiring Honey For The Mole

Following our chat with the Crane, make your way straight to The Bug Farm and descend into the well via the first ladder. After navigating another ladder, crawl through the narrow tunnel on the right side for further exploration. Continue descending until you reach another space where crawling is necessary again. Disregard the green electronic devices as you go, then open the bunker located on the right. Climb back up to find two moles, one of whom is dipping his biscuits in honey with a Pole. He requests a Honey Jar, which you must retrieve. Return all the way up to The Bug Farm.

Within the structure, you’ll find a vendor where you can purchase Honey at a cost of 3 coins. Bring the Honey to the mole, and in return, he’ll reward you with the Missing Fishing Rod, as well as some additional items.

Using your fishing rod, make your way back to Nestminster. Once there, venture to the desolate Rangers Camp located at the edge of the region on the map’s left side. Follow the marker leading you there. Upon arrival, you’ll encounter Ernest who will reward you with 10 coins and subsequently open up as a merchant where you can also purchase a Tarot Card from him.

Completing his side quest also pops the Find the Heron’s Fishing Pole Trophy/Achievement.
