- Use Fighting-type decks for Pawmot event missions and focus on Expert difficulty for Promo-A packs.
The latest release from the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is hosting the Pawmot Drop Event, which introduces five Promo-A cards, one of them being a fresh full-art version of Pawmot as the event’s star Pokemon. Additionally, it appears that April’s Drop Event, marking the sixth such event in Pokemon TCG Pocket, has undergone minor adjustments.
Pawmot’s Drop Event will run for just ten days, making it four days shorter than its previous five installments. This shortened duration is due to a revamped reward system that provides one TCG Pocket Promo-A booster pack as an added prize for completing each mission’s “First Time” objectives. Essentially, players can now secure four packs by defeating the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert opponents for the first time, with additional packs still up for grabs through random rewards at each difficulty level.
The Pawmot Drop Event for TCG Pocket will conclude on April 16, 2025, at 10:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time. During this period, players have the chance to obtain Promo-A Vol. 6 booster packs. These packs contain one of five newly introduced promotional cards: Machamp (P-A 051), Floatzel (P-A 053), Pawmot (P-A 054), Ekans (P-A 056), and Bidoof (P-A 057). It’s worth noting that the controversial Mewtwo ex, Promo-A 050, is only accessible via a paywall. Promo-A 058 and 059 are anticipated to be made available during a future Wonder Pick event.
The Pawmot Drop Event Promo Cards and Drop Rates
- Machamp (P-A 051) = 15.82%
- Floatzel (P-A 053) = 23.84%
- Pawmot (P-A 054) = 12.66% drop rate
- Ekans (P-A 056) = 23.84%
- Bidoof (P-A 057) = 23.84%
In the Promo-A Vol. 6 card set, each card sports alternate artwork; however, two cards – Ekans and Floatzel – not only showcase this alternate design but also come with revised statistics and abilities. The newly designed Ekans aligns with the Darkness theme in the TCG Pocket collection, introducing a new move, Poison Sting, that ensures the opponent becomes poisoned with just one Energy. On the flip side, Floatzel underwent modifications, boasting an extra 10 HP and a new skill called “Attack the Wound,” which inflicts 70 points of damage for a single Energy when the opponent is already injured.
For swift completion of the Pawmot Drop Event and accumulation of Promo-A packs, it’s recommended to utilize a competitive Fighting-type deck. Given that all event decks revolve around Pawmot, decks featuring Pokemon like Lucario & Rampardos from the TCG Pocket or the trending Gallade ex & Hitmonlee are suitable options. Moreover, remember that only the Expert difficulty level ensures a Promo-A pack drop. Therefore, if you’re aiming to gather these packs, concentrate on replaying the Expert difficulty rather than Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced levels.
