While a horse is initially given to players for free, it lacks the swiftness of the legendary steed Shadowmere. You can obtain Shadowmere once you’ve completed the Purification mission associated with the Dark Brotherhood. This extraordinary horse is bestowed upon players by Lucien Lachance as a token of appreciation for their service to the Black Hand.

Starting the Purification Quest in Oblivion Remastered

In the game ‘Oblivion Remastered’, gamers can embark on the Purification quest once they have finished all tasks assigned by Vicente Valtieri and Ocheeva. Return to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary and begin cleansing the area, but prior to engaging in any lethal activities, be stealthy and strategically select your targets. This approach will help avoid aggravating other NPCs, thus preventing them from assaulting you. If multiple NPCs are provoked simultaneously, the quest can become quite challenging.

To maximize your effectiveness, consider employing a bow and taking advantage of the sneak ability to increase its power for headshots on all enemies you encounter. Start with Vicente Valtieri, who resides in the Sanctuary’s more secluded area, away from curious onlookers. After dispatching him, move on to clearing out the hallway enemies, including the Dark Guardian armed with a sword. Once you’ve dealt with those in the open spaces, enter each room and finish off the remaining enemies inside.
