In the upgraded version of Oblivion, known as Oblivion Remastered, there’s an extensive collection of armor sets and additional items for players to don, which can enhance multiple attributes. One particularly powerful ring is the Circlet of Omnipotence, especially beneficial for those who prefer melee combat builds. This ring significantly enhances stats like Endurance, Agility, Speed, and Strength, making it an essential accessory. However, before players can obtain this ring, they must first navigate their way to the Pale Pass, a passageway linking to Skyrim.
How to Reach the Pale Pass in Oblivion Remastered (Lifting the Vale Quest)

In order to obtain the Circlet of Omnipotence in Oblivion Remastered, gamers initially need to access the Pale Pass. This can be initiated by embarking on the “Lifting the Vale” mission. To start this quest, players should navigate towards Castle Bruma, which lies north of the Imperial City. Upon arrival, enter the Great Halls and find Tolgan, the Herald of the Countless. Interacting with him triggers the “Lifting the Vale” quest. Furthermore, it’s important to engage in conversation with Countess Narina and exhaust her dialogues to progress the quest.
In my excitement, I’d rather dive straight into the location of the Serpent’s Trail, as clearly indicated on the image provided. Once you venture within its confines, you’ll navigate through subterranean passages shrouded in darkness. If you prefer not to tangle with the adversaries lurking inside, just swiftly bypass them. Upon leaving the Serpent’s Trail, you’ll find yourself in the Pale Pass – a crucial link between Cyrodiil and Skyrim within the revamped version of Oblivion.
How to Get the Circlet of Omnipotence

Upon reaching the Pale Pass, you’ll encounter various foes such as Trolls. To obtain the highly coveted Circlet of Omnipotence, hidden within a chest, you must discover and collect three keys in a particular sequence that are scattered around this region. Here’s a guide to help you locate these essential keys within the Pale Pass.
- Rusty Key: Keep following the stone pathway that leads to the castle. Once you arrive at the castle’s gate, make a quick right and head over the frozen lake. There’s a barrel near the rock wall with a Rusty Key inside.
- Old Key: Head back to the castle gate, and this time take a left turn. Head straight to the ruins of a tower and jump inside to find a small chest hugging the wall next to the tree. Open it up to get the Old Key.
- Forgotten Key: Now, backtrack on the stone pathway for a while until you pass two statues. After passing the statues, take the left path up the hill, and you’ll see a big rock on the left. Head behind the rock, and you’ll spot a chest that will contain the Forgotten Key.
After retrieving the Forgotten Key, go back towards the entrance of the Serpent’s Trail without entering. Instead, take a right turn from the doorway and continue along the path on your right until you find the last chest. This chest holds the Circlet of Omnipotence.
The Circlet of Omnipotence will increase the following skills by 3 pts.
- Fortifies Agility
- Fortifies Endurance
- Fortifies Speed
- Fortifies Strength
- Fortifies Willpower
