Blue Prince is an engaging game centered around exploration, puzzle-solving, detective work, and a good deal of Random Number Generator (RNG) elements. It skillfully blends various genres into one, offering a seamless and enjoyable gaming experience that can easily consume considerable amounts of your time.
In the strategy game called Blue Prince, mastering the art of drafting plays a significant role in achieving victory. The decision you make about which room to select during drafting can be crucial. Red Rooms are rooms that players should generally avoid because they come with negative consequences, but there are situations where it’s advantageous to pick them.
What Are Red Rooms in Blue Prince?
In the game ‘Blue Prince’, there are distinct types of rooms, each with unique features that set them apart and contribute significantly to the game’s play dynamics.
Red Rooms are typically associated with certain drawbacks. In the game, there are a total of eight Red Rooms, each one carrying a significant disadvantage that makes them unattractive choices during the draft. Some come with minor setbacks such as losing a coin and requiring an additional step, while others impose severe consequences, forcing players to forfeit half of their steps.
When Should You Draft Red Rooms in Blue Prince?
In certain situations, it might be advisable to create red rooms within the game “Blue Prince”. While they do come with disadvantages, some of these can be minimized. Some rooms conceal hidden mysteries, others engage with other areas, and a few are beneficial even with their drawbacks.
- Firstly, the Gymnasium is one of the best red rooms in the game. It costs an extra step for you, but it has 3 doors, and its downside can be mitigated with the help of the Utility Closet. The Dark Room is just as good, and you should always draft it if you have a utility box in your manor.
- The Archives are a bit more tricky. If you draft it, all future drafts will hide (or archive) one of the three choices. It’s not recommended that you draft this early in the game, but it shouldn’t be a big deal in the late game, especially if you have a lot of routes available.
- The Maid’s Chamber is a horrible pick in the early game, but it’s great in the middle and late game if you have the Nursery already drafted.
You should hold on to your gems so you don’t get caught “red-handed” with a set of bad choices.
- The Weight Room has a lever for the south gate of the Antechamber. To access it, you need to break the wall behind the punching bag with a Power Hammer. There is also a good chance that the room will contain a broken lever, which can be used at the Greenhouse to open another Antechamber door.
- The Furnace can melt the items in the Freezer if placed within a few ranks of it.
- The Chapel holds clues to solving the Tomb puzzle. Additionally, if you solve the chess puzzle in the Precipice and choose the Bishop, you’ll be able to gain 30 coins instead of paying 1 coin when entering the Chapel.
- The Lavatory is an inoffensive (if useless) room without anything going for it. There’s no real reason to draft it, as it is a dead end and doesn’t have any special effects or secrets that could help you on your journey.
- The Closed Exhibit doesn’t have any downsides if you have the Security Keycard.
All Red Rooms in Blue Prince
In your manor exploration, all the red-colored rooms apart from the Closed Exhibit can be selected at any moment. The Standard and Common rooms are straightforward to locate, whereas the Unusual or Rare ones might prove challenging to stumble upon. However, the Closed Exhibit is a Room Design that joins your draft pool exclusively after you’ve uncovered it in the Drafting Room.
