Unusual, sometimes almost dreamlike treasures await adventurers as they delve into the shooter roguelike journey known as “The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth“. Drawing heavily from the classic game “Rogue“, this game offers everything players could desire in a unique dungeon crawler. As a reimagined version of the original, “The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth” is sure to leave an indelible mark on anyone who experiences it.
In The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, the unpredictable gameplay and the gripping storyline featuring Isaac being chased by his mother for a sacrificial offering, result in an intense, eight-level adventure featuring an impressive twenty bosses. As players strategize their journey through the labyrinths, deciding on which obstacles and rewards to tackle becomes crucial. Here are some of the most beneficial challenge rewards in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, along with tips on where to locate them.
Note that the ranking is based on usefulness and effectiveness:
1. The Wafer – Located in the basement floor, defeating the Devil deals 4 heart containers. This reward offers significant health benefits during challenging stages.
2. The D6 – Found on the Depths floor, defeating the Angel grants a random item from the pool of active items. Since it offers unpredictable advantages, this reward can be very useful when strategizing your approach to bosses and enemies.
3. The Brimstone – Defeating the Hush in the Cathedral results in this reward, which fires a powerful beam attack. It’s an excellent weapon for taking down tough bosses.
4. The Book of Revelations – Located in the Chest room on the Caves floor, defeating Mothman grants this item that can reveal hidden items and secrets.
5. The Mom’s Knife – Defeating Mother Battle in the Womb 2 results in this reward, which offers a powerful melee attack. It’s especially useful for close-range combat situations.
6. Epic Fetus
Challenge Number 19
As a dedicated player, I must conquer Challenge 19, known as The Family Man, to claim the elusive Epic Fetus prize. To ramp up the difficulty, the enigmatic Blindfolded condition is in play during this challenge, affecting not just Isaac, but also Tainted Lilith and Lilith, leaving us all in a state of visual darkness. This is certainly going to test my skills and strategic thinking!
In simpler terms, the “Epic Fetus” is a unique upgrade for Isaac’s attacks, outranking all other tear modifiers including Mom’s Knife and Brimstone. This powerful item transforms Isaac’s tears into accurate projectiles that are twice as potent as regular shots. When fired, these enhanced shots can deal an impressive 20 times the standard damage!
5. Rune Of Jera
Challenge Number 2
In the game “The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth,” the second unlockable challenge, known as the High Brow challenge, is quite thrilling. Successfully completing this challenge grants players the “Rune of Jera” as a reward. At the outset of this challenge, Isaac is equipped with four initial items: Butt Bombs, Number One, E. Coli, and Flush.
If you manage to overcome this obstacle, the Rune of Harvest (ID 5.300.33) is earned as a reward, and it’s definitely worth obtaining. Once in your possession, the Rune of Harvest not only duplicates all the chests in the area but also all the collectibles, making it extremely beneficial for players of all skill levels.
4. Death’s Touch
Challenge Number 17
In Waka Waka, you’ll encounter a formidable item known as “Death’s Caress”. This is part of Challenge 17. As you start this challenge, you’ll have Strange Attractor and Anti-Gravity at your disposal. The Strange Attractor turns Isaac into a magnet, enabling him to grab trinkets and even monsters effortlessly. On the other hand, Anti-Gravity gives Isaac’s tears the ability to float in place, suspended midair.
This way of explanation aims to make the original text easier to understand while maintaining its essence.
After finishing Waka Waka, Death’s Touch is earned, and it’s undoubtedly beneficial to have this in Isaac’s item collection. Not only does Death’s Touch boost damage by 1.5 times, but it also provides piercing shots, transforming them into Death’s scythes and increasing the number of tears emitted by twice their original volume.
3. Chaos Card
Challenge Number 9
In the ninth challenge, named “Demo Man,” you’ll encounter the formidable “Chaos Card.” At the onset of this challenge, Isaac starts with two unique items: The Dr Fetus, which transforms tears into explosive bombs, and the Remote Detonator, a device that detonates all placed bombs simultaneously.
Upon finishing Demo Man, players receive the Chaos Card (ID 5.300.42). To utilize this card, merely toss it forward near Isaac. Whenever laid down, the Chaos Card obliterates everything or anyone in its path, offering a significantly beneficial prize for the player.
2. Gold Bomb
Challenge Number 23
Completing the tough Challenge 23 (Blue Bomber) in the game The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth grants the player the strong and formidable Gold Bomb. Taking on Blue Bomber is no easy feat, as from the get-go, Isaac is handicapped by a blindfold, and he’s equipped with Mr. Mega, Kamikaze!, Pyromaniac, and Brother Bobby. This challenge is definitely one of the game’s more difficult ones.
Even though the Gold Bomb doesn’t boost Isaac’s bomb or trinket stockpile directly, it grants him an unlimited bomb usage privilege within any given room. This applies whether he has 100 bombs or none in his inventory. However, be cautious as the Bomb Bums counteract the Gold Bomb’s effect entirely, so it’s best to avoid combining them altogether.
1. Get Out Of Jail Free Card
Challenge Number 22
To acquire the highly beneficial “Escape-from-Jail Token”, players need to triumph over Challenge 22: SPEED! Despite its seemingly straightforward nature because all enemies are in familiar locations, each adversary moves at an accelerated pace, giving the illusion that they possess a Broken Watch.
The Exceptionally Unique Card labeled ID. 5.300.47 serves as a versatile key, granting Isaac access to every door within the present room and functioning identically to Dad’s Key. Remarkably, this card also unlocks the door leading to the Mega Satan boss battle, providing players with an efficient shortcut through the labyrinthine dungeon.
