Unlock the Power: Top Guardian Games Weapons in Destiny 2 You Need Now!

Summary

  • Hullabaloo grenade launcher is best for PvE with Envious Arsenal or Voltshot and One For All or Chain Reaction.
  • Taraxippos scout rifle excels in PvP with Lone Wolf or Zen Moment and Explosive Payload or Kill Clip.
  • Keraunios trace rifle is powerful in PvE with Recycled Energy or Overflow and Jolting Feedback, Detonator Beam or Rolling Storm.

In the world of Destiny 2, just as every episode brings something fresh, Episode Heresy has ushered in one of the game’s annual traditions – Guardian Games 2025. It feels great to see three weapons that I’ve used before making a comeback, now with enhanced and potent builds. On top of that, a new Trace Rifle has been introduced at an ideal moment, adding a perfect twist to the weapon category for this year’s event.

Here’s an overview of the weapons in this event, arranged based on their effectiveness in both Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP), taking into account how they compare to non-time-limited options within the game. Each weapon has its unique advantages, but some stand out more due to their superior power. This list reflects those clear power differences.

4. Hullabaloo

Arc Compressed Wave Frame Grenade Launcher

  • Best PvE Roll: Envious Arsenal or Voltshot and One For All or Chain Reaction
  • Best PvP Roll: Impulse Amplifier and Chain Reaction

Among two types of Compressed Wave Frame grenade launchers is one known as Hullabaloo, while the other is the Dimensional Hypotrochoid from Neomuna. Unlike its counterpart, Hullabaloo boasts several Arc weapon staples, such as Voltshot and Chain Reaction, along with impressive damage perks like Envious Arsenal and One For All. However, when compared to traditional grenade launchers, this weapon has a unique quirk – it must be fired at the ground for it to work effectively, which means it lacks the usual impact damage-based damage rotation. As a result, Hullabaloo struggles against multiple endgame bosses.

In contrast, the raucous Hullabaloo has gained prominence within the Vesper’s Host dungeon, particularly with the second boss comprised of Fallen Servitors. Given that these servitors often congregate as a cluster, this weapon offers the advantage of striking multiple at once, thereby effortlessly triggering One For All. Simultaneously, it inflicts substantial damage on the boss due to the frequent strikes against it.

3. Taraxippos

Strand Lightweight Frame Scout Rifle

  • Best PvE Roll: Enlightened Action and Explosive Payload and Hatchling
  • Best PvP Roll: Lone Wolf or Zen Moment and Explosive Payload or Kill Clip

The Taraxippos scout rifle is intriguing, but it doesn’t fully live up to its potential as a Strand weapon due to the absence of Strand-specific advantages. Fortunately, Hatchling in the second perk slot can be beneficial for those crafting a Strand setup; however, Explosive Payload may be more effective for general PvE purposes. If you’re seeking a potent scout rifle to integrate into a Strand build, it’s advisable to opt for The Guiding Sight from Iron Banner instead. This rifle comes with several Strand perks that can significantly enhance the strength of your build, unlike Taraxippos.

As a gamer, I’ve found this weapon truly excels in player versus player (PvP) scenarios. It’s all thanks to its ability to leverage perks like Lone Wolf and Zen Moment, which significantly enhance the weapon’s performance in typical gunfights. When coupled with Explosive Payload, it becomes an exceptional dueling tool. Alternatively, for those seeking a kill-chaining boost, Kill Clip is a solid choice.

2. Keraunios

Arc Adaptive Frame Trace Rifle

  • Best PvE Roll: Recycled Energy or Overflow and Jolting Feedback, Detonator Beam or Rolling Storm
  • Best PvP Roll: Dynamic Sway Reduction and Closing Time

The latest weapon joining the Guardian Games arsenal is Keraunios, which arrives at an opportune moment. Given that Episode Heresy highlights Arc weapons and Act 2 introduces artifact perks enhancing trace rifles’ power, Keraunios shares similarities with Warlord’s Spear, another Arc trace rifle from Iron Banner. This weapon can feature Jolting Feedback or Detonator Beam as rolls, both of which are effective in PvE scenarios due to their area-of-effect capabilities, further amplifying the Arc builds that Keraunios is designed for.

If a player wants to enhance Bolt Charge, Rolling Storm is another effective bonus feature. Pairing these features with Recycled Energy ensures continuous ability recharges, making the weapon more of a support tool for Bolt Charge and energy replenishment. Additionally, Keraunios can be equipped with Overflow and Triple Tap, beneficial perks that improve its ammo supply, and work well with Jolting Feedback and Detonator Beam.

1. The Title

Void Aggressive Frame Submachine Gun

  • Best PvE Roll: Repulsor Brace or Threat Detector and Destabilizing Rounds, Demoralize or Surrounded
  • Best PvP Roll: Closing Time or Threat Detector and Rangefinder or Under Pressure

The last item on our list is called “The Title,” which has been a mainstay in the Guardian Games weapons roster for quite some time. Although the combo of Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds has been accessible for over a year, due to the progression system in Guardian Games, many gamers have yet to experience this potent firearm. With the introduction of the new perk Demoralize, this weapon is more crucial than ever. Additionally, with the newly introduced roll options and Void artifact perks from Episode Heresy, there’s never been a better moment to acquire this powerful gun.

Regarding its effectiveness in player-versus-player scenarios, The Title isn’t the top Submachine Gun in the game, but it can be incredibly powerful due to some excellent possible upgrades. With the perks Closing Time and Under Pressure, this weapon shines in extended firefights. Additionally, Threat Detector and Rangefinder make it a versatile choice for dueling, offering an edge in both close-range and more distant encounters.
