In the captivating world of “Lost Records: Bloom and Rage,” Swann and her companions discover a treasure trove of enjoyable adventures during their summer vacation. Beyond strengthening their friendships, they uncover secrets hidden beneath the seemingly peaceful town of Velvet Cove, revealing it to be shrouded in more mystery than one might initially perceive.
In the course of their woodland escapades within the game ‘Lost Records: Bloom and Rage’, Swann comes across a fenced collection of love locks, one of which bears the names of none other than Dylan and Corey. This is one of the game’s subtler puzzles, and if you find yourself at a loss for how to crack it, the solution might be closer than you think. Here’s a guide on unraveling Dylan and Corey’s combination lock puzzle in Lost Records: Bloom and Rage.
How to Solve Dylan and Corey’s Combination Lock in Lost Records: Bloom and Rage
In Scene 10 of the game ‘Lights, Camera, Action!’ (Tape 1), you’ll find a small challenge known as the “Dylan and Corey’s Lock Puzzle.” This puzzle shouldn’t be mixed up with the Cabin Lock puzzle that follows. As Swann and the crew venture into Velvet Cove to gather footage for their debut music video, they will stumble upon a fence bordering the Mikaelsen property, where Kat’s family resides at one point, and Swann will discover this lock there.
Along the wire fence in Velvet Cove, you’ll find a cluster of “sweetheart padlocks,” left by young couples residing there. Upon approaching the fence, you’ll notice that only one of these locks is accessible, and it belongs to Dylan and Corey. It has a four-digit combination dial with numbers, and to unlock it, you must determine the correct sequence of those numbers.
As a gamer, I’d like to share a tip: Don’t panic if you think you need to search for the code right away. The truth is, you won’t stumble upon the code until later on, specifically towards the end of Tape 1. When we reach Scene 24 (‘Riot Grrrls’), keep your eyes peeled outside Blue Spruce Bar. You’ll find the code hidden in Corey’s bike bag. It’s a Polaroid picture featuring Corey and Dylan. The key to this code lies in the date written on it – August 27, 1994.
Once you’ve completed Tape 1, navigate back to the puzzle by selecting the ‘Scene Selection’ option in the game’s Main Menu. In the Scene Selection menu, find and click on ‘Scene 10’. A question will appear asking if you want to replay the scene in Collectible Mode or Story Mode; in this instance, choose Collectible Mode because it enables you to focus on collecting any missed items without interfering with your story advancement.
Return to the point where Swann discovers the fence, engage with Dylan and Corey’s lovelock once more, and insert the code: 0827. This action will unlock the lock, and the ‘Heartbreak’ achievement/trophy should appear on your screen.
Be sure to employ the same strategy when searching for any other hidden items in the game, like hard-to-find Graffiti locations, as it will bring you one step closer to achieving a perfect 100% completion!
