Experienced Assassin’s Creed gamers are well-aware that they may need to scale lofty structures, and not every leap will land them on a handy haystack. Fortunately, players can acquire a skill from Naoe’s Shinobi tree, which enhances her ability to withstand falls from considerable heights, reducing damage significantly. An additional benefit of unlocking this skill is that it grants the Sometimes trophy instantly. Here’s how you can achieve it.
How to Unlock the Landing Roll Ability for Naoe in AC Shadows
If you frequently scale and leap from tall structures in “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, it would be beneficial to focus on acquiring the Igan Roll skill for Naoe first. Players can achieve this by navigating to the Shinobi skill tree, where they should invest one mastery point in the Igan Roll ability located on the far right side.
For the Igan Roll maneuver, it’s exclusive to Naoe because Yasuke is too large and cumbersome to ascend or jump from significant heights.
The Igan Roll is a move that requires a Knowledge Rank of 2. If you’re new to the game and haven’t progressed much yet, you won’t be able to access it just yet. To increase your Knowledge Rank, you should focus on finishing tasks marked with an orange hexagon. These tasks are scattered throughout the game and count as side activities.
- Hidden Trails
- Temples
- Shrines
- Kuji-Kiri
- Horse Archery
- Kata
- Kofun
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll need to perform and complete the side activities mentioned for each Knowledge Point earned. Collecting enough of these points will advance your Knowledge Rank to a higher level.
When I’ve mastered the Igan Roll skill, here’s what I do: Find a good vantage point, take a leap of faith, and as I plummet downwards, I clutch the “dodge” button – that’s the “B” button on Xbox, the “O” button on PlayStation, or the “ALT” key if I’m using a keyboard. This magic move causes Naoe to roll her body upon landing, softening the impact and ensuring she survives the jump unscathed!
After completing this task, a message will appear on your screen congratulating you for earning the “Sometimes” trophy. Now you have an additional skill at your disposal, bringing you one step further to unlocking all the trophies in ‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’.
