This article contains spoilers from Solo Leveling Manhwa beyond Season 2.
Summary
- Jinwoo’s shadows have different grades, with some reaching Marshal status, surpassing powerful entities.
- Major shadows like Igris, Tank, Iron, Tusk, and Beru show impressive growth, becoming Elite Knights and Generals.
- Kaisel, Jinwoo’s wyvern mount, offers great mobility and combat abilities, showcasing the strength of his shadows.
In Season 2 of “Solo Leveling,” Jinwoo continued to develop his magical abilities, demonstrating an incredible increase in power that earned him the title of a formidable monster. Achieving the status of S-Rank Hunters was previously just a distant aspiration for him, but now he has surpassed many of them in South Korea.
In my viewpoint as a fervent admirer, it’s clear that Jinwoo’s personal prowess is undoubtedly a significant factor in his achievement of such an extraordinary feat. Yet, throughout the numerous battles he faces, his Shadows are indispensable allies that have likely kept him alive when otherwise defeated. It’s not hard to imagine that without his Shadows, Sung Jinwoo might well have met his end much sooner. Not every Shadow of Jinwoo is equally potent, and the enthusiastic community acknowledges that some are renowned for their exceptional strength and higher rank.
Jinwoo’s Major Acquired Shadows So Far
Jinwoo Has Gained Access to Multiple Powerful Shadows

Season 2 of “Solo Leveling” has delivered a wealth of thrilling shadows to fans, and it’s evident that much like Jinwoo, they continue to grow in strength as they engage in combat. It’s no secret that Jinwoo’s shadows possess immense power, with his initial major shadow being Igris, who was once a formidable night and could effortlessly overpower and vanquish an A-Rank Hunter. Although Igris did lose some of his power after transforming into a shadow, he ultimately became much stronger.

Following Igris, Tank became another formidable shadow Jinwoo could control, yet it wasn’t as powerful compared to the other significant shadows. Similar to its counterparts, though, Tank gradually increases in strength and attains higher ranks.
At approximately the same moment, Jinwoo acquires the ability to wield Iron as well. After Kim Chul was killed by Igris, Jinwoo summoned his shadow and forged the valiant Iron. This shadow proved invaluable during the fight with Barca, and ultimately, due to its assistance, Jinwoo emerged victorious.

Originally, Tusk was the High Orc Kargalgan, but following a fierce battle with Jinwoo in which Jinwoo emerged victorious, Tusk became a member of his shadow army. At that time, Tusk was the strongest among them, and he still remains one of the most valuable today.
In their struggle against the Demon King, Jinwoo doesn’t summon the King himself as a shadow. Instead, he summons his mighty wyvern steed, which he names Kaisel. This wyvern is particularly powerful and its main advantage lies in its agility. With it, Jinwoo can traverse the land swiftly and even engage in aerial combat.
All Jinwoo Shadow Grades So Far
Jinwoo’s Shadows Have Different Grades
Starting now, I delve into the thrilling depths of the Solo Leveling saga, venturing well past season 2! If you’re yet to join me in this journey or prefer not to uncover Jinwoo’s Shadows’ astonishing final rankings, I strongly advise you to pause here. Enjoy your exploration at a safer pace!
In the series “Solo Leveling,” the shadows that Jinwoo has encountered are exceptionally powerful at their highest capabilities. Shadows even of lower strength eventually progress to a level where they can engage in combat with S-Rank heroes and emerge victorious effortlessly. For example, Tank, produced by the Ice Bear, holds the title of Knight, which is why Jinwoo could assign him a name. Tank possesses strength comparable to, or even surpassing, an A-rank Hunter.

In simpler terms, Iron is comparable in strength to top-tier warriors like Baek and Cha. This makes him significantly stronger than his original form.
Kaisel, just like any other Elite Knight, may not excel in direct combat, but spectators acknowledge that it possesses a substantial amount of power, making it comparable to the fundamental S Ranks.
Originally known as the dark companion of Kargalgan, Tusk has amassed immense power. This growth leads him to advance to the rank of General, a title that allows him to challenge not only the mighty S Ranks but even defeat them, such as Goto Ryuji. Additionally, he acquires the ability to communicate verbally in due course.
In the captivating world of Solo Leveling, Igris ascends to the position of Marshal, surpassing even the formidable power of the Ant King. Igris’s transformation leaves viewers spellbound.
In the end, it’s clear that Jinwoo adds another member to his team in Season 2 Episode 13 of Solo Leveling – the Ant King, whom he names Beru. Similar to Igris, Beru ascends to the rank of Marshal over time, starting as a General. Beru proves himself to be one of the most faithful and powerful shadows within Jinwoo’s ranks.
The highly-anticipated Season 2 Episode 13 of Solo Leveling will air on March 30, 2025 at midnight (Japan Standard Time) on both ABEMA and Tokyo MX. For fans who wish to catch the episode, it’s available for streaming on Crunchyroll. By tuning in through this official platform, you’ll be contributing to the continued success of the anime series.
