Unlock the Secrets of ‘Speak of the Devil’ in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2!

In the sequel to “Kingdom Come: Deliverance,” also known as “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2,” players embark on an open-world, medieval role-playing game adventure. The narrative revolves around Henry, whose parents fall victim to the ongoing conflict, prompting him on a quest for vengeance. This journey leads our protagonist to the Kuttenberg region, where he undertakes a rescue mission.

On their journey towards Kuttenberg, Henry and Zizka embark on their next significant mission. Their objective is to connect with a character known as the Dry Devil and his associates, who will aid them in this endeavor. However, as fate would have it, events take an unexpected turn. This guide can assist you in successfully completing the “Speak of the Devil” quest within the game “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2“.

Speak of the Devil Walkthrough

Following their completion of the Sword and Quill guidebook, Henry and Zizka embarked on a quest to locate the elusive Dry Devil. Zizka, having knowledge of a tavern known as the Devil’s Hideaway, proposed they investigate this establishment, believing it could be the Dry Devil’s hangout. With that in mind, Henry agreed to accompany Zizka there.

Before players have the chance to teleport directly to the Devil’s Den, they can interact with Zizka more extensively and engage in conversation with him. Alternatively, they can travel there at a normal pace, which will allow them to unfold the map and collect Horsemanship Experience points.

Go to the Devil’s Den

Upon reaching the Devil’s Den, a cutscene ensues. Out stumbles a tipsy fellow named Kubyenka from the tavern, closely trailed by a group of irate bandits. In this situation, Zizka and Henry will join forces with Kubyenka to take on these bandits.

As a devout follower of the Dry Devils crew, I found myself ensnared by their enemies around a moon’s cycle past. Yet, an intriguing whisper reached my ears – word has it that the Devil himself is on the move today.

The team arranges a surprise attack setup. While Zizka remains at base to enlist more men, Henry is dispatched with Kubyenka to unearth hidden Handgonnes from their encampment, before regrouping at the designated ambush location.

Get the Handgonnes With Kubyenka

Henry and Kubyenka set off towards an old campsite of Kubyenka’s. He mentions that him and his group hid some Hand Cannons there, but since they were intoxicated at the time, he can’t pinpoint the exact location.

Upon reaching the campsite, Henry should shadow Kubyenka and excavate wherever Kubyenka indicates he believes the Handgonnes are hidden. Since it may not be immediate, Henry initially might find himself digging in incorrect spots a few times.

Players can pick up a Spade at the camp if they don’t have one.

At some point, Kubyenka plans to share a drink with Henry. However, be mindful if Henry overindulges, as this could severely impact his Speech, Movement, and Health. If he becomes excessively intoxicated, a “Hair of the Dog” potion can aid in his recovery. Ultimately, Kubyenka will guide Henry towards the appropriate burial site, where they’ll find Handgonnes hidden inside a buried chest.

With guns in hand, the pair will set off to the ambush location once Henry gets on his horse.

Ambush the Caravan

Zizka and a band of associates are stationed near a damaged wagon that Zizka strategically placed on the road. Approach Zizka and Kubyenka for a conversation about our plan.

As the caravan makes its appearance, they are compelled to halt for the cart. Following this, everyone springs into action, catching their adversaries off guard as they launch an attack. Zizka and Kubyenka engage in a debate over the tactical aspects but eventually reach a consensus. Regrettably, the initial ambush fails to yield the desired results, with only one horse being brought down and the Dry Devil being unintentionally injured before facing off against the Caravan’s leader.

Henry will have an opportunity to talk and attempt to persuade some members of the Caravan to leave, using one of three conversation strategies: his speech abilities.

  • (HARD) There are many of us in the woods! – Charisma
  • (HARD) We’ll be done with you in no time! – Intimidation
  • (HARD) We are obeying orders of the Lords of Leipa! – Domination

If players don’t manage to pass the dialogue test, they’ll end up engaging in combat against the entire party. The group isn’t particularly powerful, except for their leader and a knight who are traveling with them. Players could use their Handgonne to eliminate one of them before transitioning to their melee weapon because reloading requires some time.

After everyone is dead, Henry and Zizka will reunite, and the group will depart. Players can scavenge gear from the fallen bandits, which includes high-quality armor and weapons, before setting off. The quest concludes with them reaching the Devil’s Den, where they toast with the Dry Devil, discussing their future strategies.
