In the gritty world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, I find myself surrounded by a multitude of nefarious groups just waiting to be taken down. As I progress through the game, new objectives keep popping up on my radar, each brimming with targets to track down. One such group, the elusive Godai Shinobi, becomes available around the midway point. This secretive band of former students is causing trouble for my character Naoe, and it’s up to me to eliminate them. Since they’re cleverly concealed across the map, I’ve put together a guide on how to find all five members of the Godai Shinobi in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This guide will help you locate each student, making your mission against them that much easier.

How to Start The Godai Shinobi Quest in AC Shadows

Complete Requiem for Rokkaku:

To initiate the side-quest and organization related to “The Godai Shinobi“, you should initially engage in a conversation with both Shotei and Katsuhime during the mission named “Requiem for Rokkaku“. This quest serves as an epilogue to the adventure that led to discovering “The Naginata“, a member of the Shinbakufu in “Omi“. Once you’ve completed The Naginata’s main storyline, Shotei will be added to the “People of Omi” wheel in your objectives menu. After finishing the game, the “Requiem for Rokkaku” mission will become accessible.

In this mission, there’s no need for you to perform any tasks because its primary purpose is to establish Naoe’s relationship with Katsuhime. This could lead to her becoming an ally in the League and potentially one of the romantic interests for Naoe (Naoe & Katsuhime). During the conversation, Shotei will bestow Yasuke with a Legendary Bow, and he’ll provide you with a list of past students to locate, starting “The Godai Shinobi.

Every one of the five Ninja, known as Godai Shinobi, is assigned a name representing an element such as wind, water, fire, and so forth. You can begin at any point on the wheel, but remember to verify the suggested level because they differ for each character. If your level surpasses the base recommended one, these Godai Shinobi will grow stronger alongside you.

Void, Wind, Earth, Fire, Water:

Godai of Void The Godai of Void is found in a cave at the northern end of Daikichijii Temple. This POI is located in the NE corner of the Goshiki Outlands province of Omi. You do not need to complete the small side quest to locate Void. Make sure to read the letters in the cave, as they provide exact locations for other Godai Shinobi. Godai of Wind The Godai of Wind is found in a small camp near the Shimagahara Valley POI in Otogi Pass province, Iga. You should get the exact location provided if you read the documents in Void’s cave. Iron Dispute Epic Tanto, Adrenaline on Headshot Engraving, 275 Mon
Godai of Earth The Godai of Earth is located in the Hijiyama province of Iga, just north of the region’s name on the map. He will be chopping wood when you approach, so it is fairly easy to sneak up on him. Rooted Thrust Epic Tanto, Damage with Bleed Engraving, 385 Mon
Godai of Fire The Godai of Fire is located in a small camp past the burning temple at the top of Mount Hiei in Omi. Completing the small quest will lead you to his general location, but it is not required. Sakamoto is a good starting location, as Mount Hiei is directly northwest. Godai of Water The Godail of Water is located directly east of the Godai of Fire, directly on the western shore of Lake Biwa. If you follow the coast up from Sakatmoto, you’ll see a small cove that looks like half of a heart. The Godai of Water is found here, meditating on a rock. The Godai Shinobi Final Rewards:

Besides the personal loot every Godai Shinobi yields, finishing the mission will grant you these additional rewards:

  • Brutal Assassination – Assassination Damage II: The final tier of Yasuke’s Brutal Assassination skill will be unlocked, but you’ll still need to purchase it with Mastery Points.
  • Hidden Blade – Assassination Damage III: The final tier of Naoe’s Hidden Blade skill will be unlocked, still requires Mastery Points.
  • 5500 XP
