Unlock the Secrets to Building Your Dream Home in InZOI!

To construct a dwelling in InZOI, first locate an open piece of real estate and gather sufficient funds in the form of Meows to fund your project. The price of building a home from scratch using Meows can escalate significantly depending on its size, so if you’re starting out, it may be more feasible to construct a smaller home instead of a larger one.

As time goes by, you can add more spaces and levels to your current house, or choose to transfer to a different property altogether if you find your initial plot too confined – perhaps even seeking a fresh beginning. This manual walks you through the process of constructing a home within the game of InZOI, from the initial design phase right up to the final touches. It also provides guidance on relocating and settling into a new residence should you decide to start anew in a different location.

First, Open Build Mode

Click the “Build Mode” button, located at the bottom-left corner of the screen and represented by an image of a house with a miniature hammer, to initiate customizing your dwelling. Upon activation, the camera will pan to your Zoi’s current residence in Build Mode.

Here, you will see several tabs for the different things you can decorate a house with, including:

  • Building Presets, which is home to a small selection of pre-built homes you can place to get going in InZOI faster
  • Building, which features the majority of foundation and exterior building materials, including walls, doors, windows, and room blueprints that can be placed to make the planning process easier
  • Furniture, which contains everything you need to decorate the interior of your home, including beds, tables, sofas, bathroom features, appliances, and other decor to make your home habitable.
  • Crafting, which lets players create custom furniture
  • Inventory, which displays any home goods currently in your Zoi’s possession

To construct your initial house, let’s mainly focus on the Building and Decor sections within this customization menu. If you’re seeking efficiency, take a look at the pre-built options in the first tab, although these may require more Meows than new players initially receive in the game.

Get comfortable using the Build Mode user-interface, and subsequently, work on designing the foundation and structure for your upcoming residence.

Plan The Layout & Rooms Of Your Home

Once you’ve mastered moving around in Build Mode, it’s now time to think about arranging your home design. For those playing InZOI, consider using a 3-meter wall to plan a single-story building, or opt for taller options like the 4.8-meter or 5.7-meter walls if you intend to construct a structure with multiple floors.

Start by clicking on an empty space in your lot to initiate the process. Draw a vertical line by dragging it between two desired locations and then confirm its position by clicking. Proceed to add exterior walls of your house until you reach the starting point again. Once all walls are placed, the interior flooring will change color to blue.

To organize the separate spaces in your house effectively, consider utilizing additional walls to define each room. If you prefer unique designs between ground floor and upper levels, select a reduced wall height compared to exterior walls. Ensure that your layout includes at least one bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and a relaxation spot for Zoi.

To personalize walls on different levels, make use of the Page Up and Page Down keys on your computer’s keyboard. Ensure there’s at least one unobstructed corner on an upper floor where stairs can ascend, free from any obstruction by walls.

After you’re happy with your design, add doors for each space, elevators or steps towards higher levels (if necessary), and windows for natural light. You can find these options under the Building section in the Build Mode menu.

Customize Flooring, Wallpaper, & Roofing

After you’ve designed an appealing layout for your unique InZOI house, simply click on different parts such as walls, floors, and roof to modify their looks individually. Once you’ve chosen any of these elements, click the paintbrush icon to access the Customize Paint options menu.

In this area, various choices are presented, encompassing aspects such as the shade and feel of your wall and floor surfaces, along with additional features like mirror-like finishes or even a limited collection of video clips.

You have the freedom to tailor the appearance of both your home’s inner and outer walls individually. To personalize the wallpaper for your interior spaces, simply click within the walls themselves. For an exterior makeover, navigate outside your house and click on the respective walls to modify their overall look.

As a fan, I’d say: In ZOI, handling roofs is unique. Instead of selecting them within your house, you need to navigate while completely zoomed out or viewing the roof level using PgUp/PgDn. Once you click on one of the four roof types available, you’ll be magically transported to the roofing view!

Choose a roof style that suits your desired street view for your house, then touch one corner of the roof and slide it diagonally to the opposite corner. The roof you’ve picked will expand across the entire area, but take note: InZOI roofs can only be positioned in a rectangular form, so any diagonal walls might not be completely covered by the roof or may have an excessive overhang.

Furnish Your Custom InZOI Home

After mastering Edit Mode tools, arranging your home and individual rooms, and personalizing your flooring, walls, and roof, it’s now time to embark on the detailed process of interior design. Navigate to the Furniture section within the Build Menu to explore a comprehensive list of all InZOI furnishings, categorized in various ways:

  • Bedroom furniture
  • Living Room furniture
  • Kitchen furniture
  • Bathfroom furniture
  • Home Office furniture
  • Hobby furniture
  • Outdoor furniture
  • Social Event furniture
  • Other furniture

For your Zoi’s comfort, it’s essential to provide spaces for resting, relaxing, preparing meals, and relieving themselves. While Home Office, Hobby, Outdoor, and Social Event furnishings aren’t strictly necessary, they can significantly enhance your Zoi’s lifestyle based on their goals and preferences. Feel free to browse these sections to discover items that could bring joy or practical use to them.

Generally speaking, it’s best for each pet named Zoi to have its own sleeping area or bed, and there should be sufficient space among the appliances so that multiple Zois can move freely around them when you’re accommodating more than one family member.

Take a careful look at each item of furniture available at InZOI, so you can select the ones that will help transform this vacant plot into the ideal home – or perhaps, the perfect dwelling for your Zoi.

Once you complete customizing your house in InZOI, players can choose to save their personalized design as a template or share it on the InZOI Canvas. Don’t forget to save your progress when you’re through with editing.

Once done, ensure that your Zoi is exclusively assigned to this dwelling and not another, thus finalizing the creation of your first InZOI home! While this covers the essentials for building a house in InZOI, feel free to personalize and enhance your custom residence as desired, provided you have sufficient Meows for further expansion.

How To Move Your Home & Relocate In InZOI

If you’re not happy with the layout or location of your city home, consider moving to a different place altogether. By selling your property, which includes both the land and house (if you have one), you’ll receive some funds back. You then have the option to either keep your current furniture in Storage or choose to Sell it if you prefer.

As a gamer, I navigate to my map by pressing M on my keyboard. From there, I scroll through the different locations, keeping Zoi’s preferences in mind, until I find one that suits us best. Once I’ve found the perfect spot, I click on it and select “Relocate Here” from the options. Afterward, I decide whether to store all our furniture or sell it off.

As a cat enthusiast, I’d advise you to hang onto your feline friends when relocating. If you decide to part with some of their belongings, be prepared for them to meow their disapproval – they’ll certainly let you know! It’s wise to sort and store everything first, then only sell items that won’t be needed in your new home. That way, your cats can adapt smoothly to the changes, ensuring a purr-fect move for all!

Unfortunately, if you decide to relocate, you won’t be able to transfer completed home layouts directly to a new plot of land in InZOI. Instead, players must save their current house as a blueprint for future reconstruction or upload it to the Canvas and then download it again when needed, to build an identical home at the new location.
