In the colorful world of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Gudetamas are scattered about, but one special Gudetama stands out: The Tophat Gudetama. This egg-cellent character is the focus of a unique quest titled ‘The Laziest Egg’, which serves as the weekly quest for Gudetama in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
In some mysterious way, TOPHAT’s magic has transported Gudetama to unknown locations each week, leaving it up to the players to discover where this peculiar little egg has ended up. This guide provides instructions on how to initiate ‘The Laziest Egg’ and offers helpful suggestions for locating the Top Hat-Gudetama to complete your weekly quest.
How To Start ‘The Laziest Egg’ Quest
To initiate ‘The Laziest Egg’, players need to accomplish the initial mission called ‘Gudetama Snap’. Upon acquiring the Camera, capture an image of the Gudetama that Pochacco indicates. This completes the mission. Subsequently, aim to take a total of six photos featuring Gudetamas before the ‘The Laziest Egg’ quest becomes available.
Before embarking on the Yellow Power Crystal quest, it’s possible to search for Tophat Gudetama every week, but remember that you might require flippers or a snorkel for this task.
Upon locating six Gudetamas, speak with Pochacco, who’ll share info on a peculiar Gudetama sporting an unusual top hat. He requests that you discover the whereabouts of this unique Gudetama and snap a photo should you locate it.
The ‘The Laziest Egg’ is a recurring mission that you can take on multiple times, but keep in mind that the location of Gudetama shifts each week.

And How To Find The Tophat Gudetama Every Week
Whenever you grab ‘The Laziest Egg’, a quick quest notification will show you an image of the specific Gudetama you’re after – this one has a mustache, is seated, and dons a fancy purple top hat. The whereabouts of Top Hat Gudetama aren’t fixed; instead, they change every Sunday night, with a new location being revealed for the upcoming week.
During the span of January 27th through February 2nd, 2025, you’ll find me, the in-game character Tophat Gudetama, hanging out at the Mount Hothead Dock.
- If you have the Flippers unlocked (by progressing Keroppi’s Friendship to Level 2), you can simply swim almost exactly north-west from the main Seaside Resort island to reach Mount Hothead (and find Retsuko’s location, too).
- You can also run all the way around the island chain through the Spooky Swamp and the Gemstone Mountain to reach Mount Hothead on foot.
- You must complete the quest ‘Power Up The Gate’ to access the rest of the island.
To locate the Top Hat-wearing Gudetama in “Hello Kitty Island Adventure”, players should make their way to the southeastern tip of Mount Hothead. Once there, you’ll notice a Dock on your map. Walk to the end of this dock, and you’ll find the elusive Tophat Gudetama waiting for you!
Tips To Find The Tophat Gudetama Location Every Week
From February 3rd to 9th, 2025, the Tophat Gudetama will relocate, and it won’t be at the Mount Hothead dock any longer. Starting from the following week, the Tophat Gudetama will be moved to a brand new location every week.
Since the location of the quest changes every seven days, with very few exceptions of returning to a previous spot, here are some suggestions for finding the elusive Tophat Gudetama each week:
1. Keep track of where you find it this time around, so you can eliminate that area when searching next week.
2. Check online forums and social media groups dedicated to the game to see if other players have found any clues or new locations.
3. Be prepared to spend a good amount of time exploring different areas, as the location might be hidden in plain sight or require some detective work to find.
4. Remember that Tophat Gudetama tends to appear in popular or highly-trafficked areas, so try focusing your search on busy locations like city centers or tourist attractions.
5. Stay patient and persistent, as finding Tophat Gudetama can be a fun challenge that rewards diligent players with exclusive items!
- The Tophat Gudetama will always appear sitting down, with a mustache, and wearing a purple, oversized tophat – it will not appear in other poses, unlike other Gudetama.
- Keep an eye out for its distinctive purple tophat in areas without purple coloration…
- …and look for its egg-yolk-colored body in areas with a lot of purple, which makes it harder to see his hat.
- Gudetama are never hidden completely behind objects or scenery, like buildings or overhanging landmasses. They are always visible from the default camera angle.
To finish ‘The Laziest Egg’ weekly mission, first locate the Tophat Gudetama character made by Sanrio. Snap a selfie with this adorable figure when you find it. Once done, head back to Pochacco. Each time you complete this weekly task, you’ll receive a random crafting recipe related to Gudetama as a reward.
