In Overwatch 2, the menacing Dame Chance skin for Widowmaker, a sinister weapon skin, is now up for purchase. This Mythic weapon skin offers four distinct tiers of unlockable effects, making it an enticing addition for fans of the lethal Talon assassin. You won’t want to pass on the fifth Mythic skin in Overwatch 2!
In the game Overwatch 2, Mythic weapon skins are a special category of premium cosmetics that were first introduced during Season 11. These aesthetically pleasing items usually become available with each season’s mid-patch update. Before Season 15, there were already some Mythic weapon skins available, including Reinhardt’s Bound Demon, Ana’s Midnight Sun, Soldier: 76’s Deliverance, and Ashe’s Lead Rose.
With the mid-Season 15 update for Overwatch 2, the fifth mythic weapon skin has made its grand entrance into the FPS world. The sleek and menacing Dame Chance sniper rifle is now in the hands of Widowmaker, reportedly gifted by Maximilien, a key financier favored by Talon. This weapon boasts distinctive sound effects, a glowing ammo core, and UI elements reminiscent of spiders that track kills and transform as players defeat their foes. By collecting all Dame Chance components, players gain an exclusive weapon flourish where Widowmaker spins her Grapple Hook, along with an on-kill effect showcasing a purple explosion mimicking a spider’s web.

As an avid Overwatch 2 fan, I can’t help but notice a pattern among the five Mythic weapon skins we’ve seen so far. Three of these – Ana, Ashe, and Widowmaker – happen to be snipers. Interestingly enough, these three characters have also been graced with Mythic hero skins throughout the game’s 15 seasons since its launch. Given the high level of skill required to master these heroes, it seems fitting that they receive Mythic weapon skins. While I appreciate this, some fans, including myself, are eagerly awaiting future seasons to diversify and bring Mythic weapon skins to other types of heroes. For now, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for Hanzo, the last Overwatch 2 sniper at the moment, to receive his own Mythic weapon skin soon.
