In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, players must pick one of three distinct factions, each boasting two unique conclusions. To uncover every faction’s true ending, players must shape the destiny of certain officers, a decision that will significantly influence the course of the storylines for each group.
In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, unlocking Wei’s true ending is undeniably challenging due to the intricate series of tasks that players must accomplish within a limited timeframe. Yet, overcoming these hurdles will result in saving two of Cao Cao’s most devoted subordinates and significantly impact the Battle of Chibi’s outcome.
How to Unlock the True Ending for Wei in Dynasty Warriors: Origins (Cao Cao Secret Ending)
To fully reveal Wei’s genuine ending, players need to ensure the survival of Dian Wei and Guo Jia. This action will trigger Guo Jia to expose Huang Gai’s betrayal during the Battle of Chibi. Consequently, Cao Cao would suffer fewer casualties in his army and fleet. It is worth noting that this ending can be challenging to achieve; thus, gamers might find it beneficial to play on the Historian difficulty setting in “Dynasty Warriors: Origins” for a smoother experience.
How to Save Dian Wei during Escape From Wan Castle (Chapter 4)
To unveil the genuine conclusion for Wei, you need to rescue Dian Wei when escaping Wan Castle in Chapter 4. Here’s one way to achieve this: Begin by seizing the enemy stronghold located at the top right corner of the map, eliminating any officer adversaries encountered en route. Subsequently, handle the incoming reinforcements and then safeguard the central base from Kuai Yue and the two officers accompanying him.
Subsequently, players are tasked with reaching the base situated at the top-left corner of the map. This action triggers ladders to be positioned on the castle’s eastern wall. Players should then ascend one of these ladders and swiftly eliminate the three officers stationed in the central courtyard. Following this, they can progress towards Huche’er located at the bottom right corner within the castle grounds. If players manage to get there promptly, he will inquire if they are there to rescue Cao Cao’s bodyguard. At this point, they should defeat Huche’er and his men as expeditiously as possible.

Completing all tasks within eight minutes results in Dian Wei commenting on dwindling enemy forces and a Fate Altered message showing up. If this happens, players should continue with the mission as planned, otherwise, they must start over. The goal is to swiftly accomplish each step, so it’s advisable to select single-target Battle Arts for defeating enemy officers and reserve Musou attacks for critical situations.
How to Save Guo Jia at the Battle of Mt. Bailang (Chapter 5)
To save Guo Jia from his eventual death, it’s crucial to hasten the initial phase of the Battle of Mt. Bailang, aiming to wrap it up within four minutes. This is because Guo Jia becomes ill due to the prolonged battle and severe weather, and a swift conclusion could potentially prevent him from falling sick.

The challenge is heightened because players must tread a precise path to Bailuan without triggering Yuan Xi’s troops. Initially, they ought to seize the closest outpost and then advance towards the one positioned southwest. From this point, they should proceed westward, utilizing their horse to leap over fence gaps instead of sticking to the winding path around.
Immediately after an enemy fort collapses, players ought to call for their steed and encourage it, since this action prolongs the duration they can dash, as the gates open.

After reaching the first three bases, players should use the horse to sprint past three groups of soldiers. Meanwhile, Ziluan’s troops must swiftly demolish the gate leading to the fourth base to ensure a quick entrance. This is crucial because any delay might prompt one of the soldiers they recently passed to interfere with the gate opening, potentially wasting a considerable amount of time. Once the gate is breached, players should overcome the three commanding officers to seize the fourth base and then make their escape through the western gate.

On their swift ride up the created trail atop their steed, Bailuan will emerge before them. The immediate task for our heroes is to overcome the Guardian of Tranquility expeditiously. If they can act with haste, Bailuan may inquire if Ziluan truly wishes to tread upon the crimson-stained path, and the Fate Altered message will reappear on the monitor. Subsequently, the players should proceed to finish the level as usual. The pace isn’t strictly timed, but it’s advisable to instigate the surprise attack and advance swiftly to thwart Cao Cao from being engulfed by adversity.
If players reach the fourth enemy base prior to Zhang He battling Yuan Xi, there’s a possibility that Yuan Xi might get aware of their presence. In such a scenario, they would have to redo the game or stage.
How to Stop Huang Gai’s Treachery at the Battle of Chibi (Chapter 5)
To uncover the real finale for Cao Cao, players must thwart Huang Gai’s treachery during the Battle of Chibi. To achieve this, they should initially locate Zhuge Liang and make him withdraw from the conflict. There are two ways to do this: either wait until he moves towards the prayer altar in the map’s lower left corner or capture him in his initial position, which is on the south bank of the river west of the main adversary fortress. Those finding it hard to locate him can momentarily pause the game and examine the battle map for his precise location.

After dealing with Zhuge Liang, Guo Jia will infer that there’s a spy within the Wei ranks and advise vigilance when the wind shifts direction. When this happens, they should move towards the back of Cao Cao’s main vessel and position themselves close to the yellow flag. They’ll then need to overpower Huang Gai before he sets the fleet ablaze, a task that may prove more challenging than it seems, given his robust defense and ability to ignite the fire even after combat has begun.
In case Huang Gai appears, players might need to vacate the location indicated on their map. If that’s necessary, they should make their way towards the front of Cao Cao’s primary vessel and monitor Huang Gai’s blue marker on their mini-map. Once it approaches the yellow flag, they should swiftly return to the spot and engage with him immediately.

Following Huang Gai’s defeat, the Fate Altered message will appear for the last time on your screen. From here, players should continue to finish the remaining battle as per usual. However, an interesting twist is that they won’t have to engage in the Battle of Huarong Path afterward, as the true ending for Wei will unfold immediately once the Battle of Chibi concludes if Cao Cao’s fleet doesn’t catch fire. Regrettably, this alternative ending isn’t too dissimilar from the standard one, but completionists likely won’t mind this minor variation.
Completing the Wei story’s authentic conclusion will grant players the “True Path to Power” Trophy/Achievement.
