In Season 2 of “Solo Leveling,” we were introduced to some formidable figures, among them Rakan and Sillad. These high-ranking individuals, known as Monarchs, made their appearance in the last episode of Season 2, paving the way for a thrilling confrontation in Season 3.
Although both Rakan and Jinwoo possess significant power, Rakan appears more menacing in terms of his physical presence. He’s a muscular figure that promises to pose a formidable challenge for Jinwoo. Despite Rakan’s imposing warrior-like appearance, he is far more complex than meets the eye. The King of Beasts, though not as strong as other Monarchs, compensates for his weakness with cowardly traits, making him an annoyance to those around him.
Rakan Is The Monarch Of Fangs In Solo Leveling
He Is Also Known As The ‘King Of Beasts’
Rakan, the Majestic Beast King, is known for his pride and enjoyment of dominating the powerless. He’s on a ruthless quest to eliminate all vessels of Earth’s Leaders, aiming to give Antares control over this world as a weapon against them. Rakan and Sillad tracked Jinwoo’s energy source and ended up on Jeju Island, where they discovered an unexpected situation: the Cryptic Monarch seems to be assisting humans. At that point, it was unclear if Ashborn had genuinely switched allegiances, so they shifted their focus towards Christopher Reed instead.
During the Japan Crisis Arc, Rakan joined forces with two other Monarchs in executing Christopher Reed, leaving his disfigured corpse as a gruesome spectacle for all to witness. Although these Monarchs were following orders, their brutal method of killing Reed served as a chilling demonstration of their inherent cruelty. Not long after this, Sillad grew suspicious that Ashborn was working against the Monarchs and proposed eliminating Jinwoo before he could fully harness the power of the Shadow Monarch. While some Monarchs such as Yogumunt and Tarnak refused to participate in this mission, Rakan chose to assist Sillad. This was not because Rakan was more courageous than other Monarchs; rather, he was seizing an opportunity.
You believe you can face off against me? I’ll dismantle you piece by piece, then savor your bones – Rakan to Thomas Andre. (This version aims to retain the aggressive tone while being more readable and less archaic.)
Rakan understood that Jinwoo lacked his full powers as the Shadow Monarch, which he thought meant he could defeat Jinwoo in this state. His intention was to earn Antares, the Destruction Monarch’s respect by doing so. The plan unfolded smoothly, and upon arriving on Earth, Rakan quickly overpowered Thomas Andre and Lennart Niermann. However, before he could kill the two high-level Hunters, Jinwoo intervened, striking a powerful blow against the Beast King. Since Jinwoo was the primary target, Sillad and Querehsha also joined the battle. This marked the start of Rakan’s downfall at the hands of the Shadow Monarch.
Rakan’s Cowardice Comes Forth During His Fight Against Jinwoo
He Leaves Sillad To Die Alone At The Hands Of The Shadow Monarch
At this stage, Jinwoo was remarkably potent, displaying an impressive resistance against the three Monarchs. Notably, he single-handedly defeated Querehsha, a significant feat for any human. Regrettably, however, the Monarchs proved overwhelmingly powerful for Jinwoo to overcome, and as anticipated, Rakan delivered the fatal blow. It’s worth mentioning that, in a cowardly act, Rakan struck Jinwoo from behind while he was engaged in combat with Sillad.
It turned out that when Rakan believed he had slain Jinwoo, something unexpected occurred – Jinwoo was transforming into the Shadow Monarch, empowered by Ashborn himself. Despite this, there was a brief window of opportunity left, so Rakan planned to deliver the final, fatal blow to Jinwoo while he lay unconscious. However, luck was on Jinwoo’s side as Sung II-Hwan intervened and granted him enough time to recover consciousness. With Sillad by his side, Rakan made a desperate attempt to eliminate Sung II-Hwan before Jinwoo could ‘Arise.’ Yet, it was Rakan who ultimately met his demise instead.
In this situation, Rakan and Sillad came to understand that Jinwoo had ascended as the Shadow Monarch, leaving them little choice but to engage in a fair battle and accept their destiny at his hands. However, being a coward by nature, Rakan opted not to stand his ground. Instead, he abandoned the battlefield, effectively abandoning Sillad to face Jinwoo alone. Contrary to what he expected, Jinwoo didn’t kill Sillad first; instead, he targeted the King of Beasts before taking Sillad’s life.
In a desperate bid to survive, Rakan humbled himself before Jinwoo, pleading for mercy. Jinwoo teased him, stating he would grant the apology if the King of Beasts endured five blows from him. However, Rakan succumbed after four strikes, meeting his end at Jinwoo’s hands. Unlike other monarchs, Rakan perished as a coward and without honor. Regardless, his battle against Jinwoo is an enticing spectacle that we eagerly anticipate in Season 3 of “Solo Leveling.
