Developers at Drama Studios, creators of the intensely realistic first-person shooter game Unrecord, have successfully secured $2.5 million in seed financing.
According to the French studio, the funds will be allocated to enhance their primary team of developers. With more personnel on board, the goal is to advance the game to a robust demonstration phase that gamers can test out.
Initially, the unveiling of Unrecord sparked viral acclaim as its gameplay trailer appeared astonishingly lifelike, leaving viewers questioning if it was actually a game. Ever since that moment, the dedicated crew at Drama Studios have been developing the game and seeking financial backing.
From my perspective, the majority of our financial support primarily stems from The Games Fund. While we’ve garnered attention from various publishing houses, we chose to partner with this particular Venture Capital firm because they share our values and have a similar vision for the future of the gaming industry.
In simple terms, when the drama reaches its demo stage (pre-release), we’ll seek out publishers and establish potential strategic partnerships.
Unrecord is a tactical shooter that plays out from the perspective of an officer’s body camera.
On its Steam page, Drama Studios describe the plot of Unrecord as resembling a detective mystery or suspense story. The gamer will take on the role of an investigator, delving into multiple criminal cases while interacting with a varied array of characters.
