Upcoming Games Like Palworld

Palworld quickly became a sensation when it launched in Early Access in 2024. Even though it’s still under development, it’s already gained a large and dedicated fanbase on various platforms. Its popularity has led developer Pocketpair to announce a spinoff game, Palworld: Palfarm, which appears to be a more relaxed, life simulation-style experience.

Palworld stands out from typical monster-collecting games because it combines an expansive open world with features like shooting, building, and farming. If you enjoy Palworld, you might also be interested in Digimon Story Time Stranger, which is coming out on October 2nd, and other similar games in development. All of these titles share elements like catching creatures, crafting items, or large, explorable worlds.

Pokemon Pokopia

While You Wait For Palworld: Palfarm

The world of Pokémon is introducing a new, relaxed experience with Pokémon Pokopia, inspired by the game Palworld. Players will become a Ditto that transforms into a child and focus on building a community by farming, constructing homes, and simply enjoying life with Pokémon.

The game has a similar visual style to *Minecraft*, but it’s currently unclear whether *Pokemon Pokopia* will include battles. We also don’t yet know the size of the game’s world or if it will be randomly created. However, it appears to be a promising spin-off title that fans anticipating the Switch 2 will likely be excited about in 2026.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

Taming Monsties

So far, three trailers for *Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection* have given us a look at the game’s story. It appears this will be the most ambitious installment yet in the *Monster Hunter Stories* series. The newest trailer announced the release date: March 13, 2026. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.

The first two games let players explore open areas to find monster eggs. These eggs would hatch into companions called Monsties, who would then fight alongside the player in turn-based combat. It looks like this core gameplay – exploring for eggs and battling with Monsties – is coming back in the new game, and there are also some exciting additions like battles that take place in the air.

Aniimo

Master The Elements

Aniimo is shaping up to be a really exciting new monster-catching game. Players will explore a vast open world – by air, land, and sea, with potentially even more ways to travel! The most unique feature is the ability to connect with the Aniimo monsters and actually *become* them, transforming digitally to explore the world or battle opponents.

You can catch Aniimo by rolling them into balls, like making snowballs, or by using standard catching methods. The game also lets you fight as a human, and it appears you can even use Aniimo as weapons, similar to what you can do in *Palworld*. Currently, the game is confirmed to be released on PC and Xbox, but we don’t have a release date yet.

DokeV

What Happened To This One?

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about *DokeV*. The game initially gained attention with a teaser in 2019, but there haven’t been any major trailers since 2021. Now, there’s some positive news! This action-adventure game, where you collect monsters, seems to be set in a city similar to the one in *Pokemon Legends: Z-A*. It’s being created by Pearl Abyss, the team also working on *Crimson Desert*.

The game is now officially scheduled to launch on March 19, 2026. Once *Crimson Desert* is released, we can expect to hear more about *DokeV*. There’s a possibility *Crimson Desert* will also come out in 2026, but fans are hoping Pearl Abyss will soon share a release timeframe and confirm which platforms it will be available on.

Honkai: Nexus Anima

The Next HoYoverse Obsession

HoYoverse, the company behind popular free-to-play games like *Honkai: Star Rail*, *Zenless Zone Zero*, and *Genshin Impact*, is already a major name in gaming. Their upcoming game, *Honkai: Nexus Anima*, appears to share the exploration aspects of *Genshin Impact*, but promises a significantly different gameplay experience.

So, I’ve been following this game, and it’s really interesting! You directly control both the creatures and humans in the 3D world, but when combat starts, the view changes to look down from above – it reminded me a lot of those auto-chess games. They haven’t announced when it’s coming out yet, but it sounds like we’ll be able to play it on both PC and our phones!

Tomo: Endless Blue

Sail Random Islands

  • Developer: Onibi
  • Publisher: Onibi
  • Planned Systems: PC
  • Planned Release: TBA

Tomo: Endless Blue is a promising open-world game with a unique twist: its world is procedurally generated, meaning it’s different every time you play, much like Minecraft. Players will spend a lot of time sailing between islands, searching for monsters called Tomo and gathering resources.

The game features fast-paced action combat, and you can even use crafted items during battles – for example, building a wall to block enemy fire. It will have both a single-player offline mode and full multiplayer options, which is great to see. Currently, it’s planned for release on PC, with the possibility of coming to other platforms in the future.

Voidling Bound

A Space Adventure

  • Developer: Hatchery Games
  • Publisher: Hatchery Games
  • Planned Release: Q1 2026
  • Planned Systems: PC

Like *Tomo: Endless Blue*, *Voidling Bound* promises a fresh way to connect with creatures in the game. Players will collect samples as they explore, then use those samples to expand their lab and learn more about their Voidlings.

After completing the initial setup, players can personalize the characteristics and abilities of their Voidlings. These creatures are designed with a similar aesthetic to the aliens created in the *Spore* games, giving the game a unique science fiction feel compared to other monster-collecting games that usually focus on fantasy. A demo is currently available on Steam, which appears to be the primary platform for the game. The release is planned for sometime in the first three months of 2026.
