Upcoming Nintendo Switch Exclusive Game Has a Budget Price

The popular music game, Rhythm Heaven Groove, is coming to the Nintendo Switch in July and will cost less than many other first-party Nintendo games. Nintendo has announced that both the physical and digital versions of the game will be available for $39.99 starting July 2nd.

Rhythm Heaven Groove is the newest game in the Rhythm Heaven series, following Rhythm Heaven Megamix which came out on Nintendo 3DS in 2015. Like the WarioWare games, Rhythm Heaven focuses on quick, fast-paced challenges, but with a strong emphasis on music and rhythm. Players complete challenges by tapping along to the beat. The game’s music was created by Mitsuo Terada, also known as Tsunku, who has been a key part of the series’ development.

Rhythm Heaven Groove Will Not Be An Expensive Game

Fans won’t have to spend a lot to get their hands on Rhythm Heaven Groove, which was announced a year ago during a Nintendo Direct. Both the physical and digital versions of the game are currently available for pre-order on the My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop for $39.99. Those who pre-order the digital version can even download it before the game officially launches. This price is notably lower than most other first-party games for the Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

Popular Nintendo games like Mario Kart World currently cost $79.99, while Pokemon Legends: Z-A ranges from $59.99 to $69.99. Nintendo recently announced the price and release date of Rhythm Heaven Groove on social media. It will be available both physically and digitally on July 2nd, and the digital version will only need about 3.5 GB of storage space. This means Rhythm Heaven Groove will be both affordable and won’t take up much space on your device.

Rhythm Heaven Groove is Part of Nintendo’s Price-Adjusting Efforts

At $39.99, Rhythm Heaven Groove offers a budget-friendly option for Nintendo fans. Nintendo has also announced that future first-party games for the Switch 2 will be cheaper to download than to buy as physical copies. This new pricing structure begins with the release of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on May 21st. The digital version of the new Yoshi game will cost $59.99, while physical copies will be $69.99. It’s unclear if this pricing will apply to all Nintendo games, but it remains to be seen how well this approach will impact sales.
