Valkyrae’s Shocking Confession: Moving Yearly to Escape Stalkers Amidst Streamer Safety Crisis

Summary

  • Valkyrae moves annually due to stalking fears, post-threatening situation
  • Valkyrae plans to buy a permanent home privately, amidst online threats
  • Valkyrae vows to find attacker after dangerous encounter

Popular Twitch streamer Valkyrae recently shared the reasons for her yearly relocations during a recent podcast, following a potentially harmful incident that’s caused her to reconsider what she discloses to her Twitch followers.

Rachell Marie Hofstetter, also known as Valkyrae, is a well-known streamer who first gained prominence on Twitch. After a five-year deal with YouTube (from 2020 to January 5, which coincided with her 33rd birthday), she has returned to her original platform. In her initial week back, Valkyrae secured the top spot among female streamers on Twitch, demonstrating her immense popularity. Yet, not all of this attention is entirely positive, as evidenced by a recent distressing incident she experienced.

On her March 9th episode of ‘Press ESC’ podcast, the former YouTube star-turned-Twitch live streamer disclosed that she has relocated approximately once a year, primarily due to concerns about stalkers and having personal information exposed (doxxing). She plans to purchase a permanent home but acknowledges the need to be more discreet about her personal details going forward. This decision comes after Valkyrae, as well as other prominent Twitch streamers Emiru, ExtraEmily, and Cinna, had an IRL (In Real Life) live stream from the Santa Monica Pier in California. Unfortunately, during this stream, they were approached aggressively by a ‘stream sniper’ who threatened to harm them.

As a film enthusiast, I can relate as I too value my privacy and personal safety. Just like Valkyrae, I understand the necessity of maintaining a low profile due to unwanted attention. When it comes to securing my own permanent home, much like her, I aim for it to be as private as possible. The recent escalation of threats, both online and in-person, has made this even more imperative.

The unsettling incident at the Santa Monica Pier was a stark reminder of the risks we face as public figures. However, Valkyrae remains resolute, vowing to find the individual responsible for the attack on her and her fellow streamers. She appeals to anyone with information about their attacker to come forward, ensuring their safety is our collective responsibility.

Another Top Female Streamer in a Dangerous Situation

It’s truly alarming that Valkyrae and other popular female streamers have been targeted in recent attacks. Regrettably, Amouranth was also a victim of such an incident. Intruders broke into her home, demanding cryptocurrency and assaulting her with a gun before being repelled by her armed husband. She sustained injuries that were not life-threatening but required hospitalization. These incidents among prominent female streamers reveal a disturbing pattern, emphasizing the need for streamers to prioritize their safety and privacy as much as possible, given their public profiles.
