VALORANT to Shadowdrop on Consoles Today

As a hardcore gamer who’s been through the dial-up era and witnessed the evolution of gaming, I must say, I’m thrilled to my bones about VALORANT‘s console debut! After years of hunching over PCs, it’s refreshing to see Riot Games finally bringing this gem to consoles. The crossplay feature is the cherry on top, ensuring that no matter where you play, we’re all in this fight together.

On August 2nd, 2024, the game VALORANT by Riot Games is set to release secretly on consoles – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. In simpler terms, you can expect to play VALORANT on these console platforms without an official announcement today.

Initially, the open beta for the console version of VALORANT debuted on July 26, exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. Following a productive testing phase, the game will officially become available on these consoles this very day.

In the future, crossplay between PC and consoles will remain accessible. This means that updates for the game, including balance adjustments, new characters (agents), and map releases, will be synchronized across both platforms. This way, everyone in the community will receive these updates simultaneously.

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that VALORANT has certainly caught my attention since its debut on June 2, 2020. Having played numerous titles across various genres over the years, I find myself consistently drawn to this free-to-play masterpiece by Riot Games.
