A fresh piece of gossip circulates, implying that Valve might launch a novel Virtual Reality headset towards the end of the current year, priced approximately at $1200.
The rumor originates from a user known as Gabefollower, who has a history of accurately disclosing details about Valve Corporation.
Based on reports, multiple sources have verified that Valve plans to launch a new, wireless headset called Deckard towards the end of 2025. The code name for this upcoming device is Deckard.
Gabefollower went on to explain that the present cost of the headset, when bought as a package, is $1200 and it comes with some games developed in-house.
Although the device may cost a lot for consumers, causing potential losses per unit, Valve chose to prioritize delivering an exceptional user experience.
He mentioned that they plan to modify the SteamOS used on the Steam Deck for use in virtual reality. A key aspect of this device will be its capability to transform flat-screen games from the Steam Deck into immersive VR experiences, viewable on a large screen without the need for a personal computer.
It’s uncertain if a $1200 VR headset will thrive in today’s market, as that price might not make it more accessible for a wider audience. However, VR enthusiasts might be thrilled by the arrival of a new high-end, wireless headset.
