In this post, they shared their plans for the coming year, including the ongoing development of cross-save functionality and exciting collaborations with various indie game titles. In the year 2024, the game “Vampire Survivors” has been consistently updated with a mix of major and minor changes, as well as making its anticipated debut on PS4 and PS5 platforms. Some of the game’s most significant updates in 2024 included two crossover expansions in partnership with Konami. During the summer, Vampire Survivors introduced their “Operation Guns” DLC, a collaboration with the Contra series that featured a fresh stage, multiple playable characters, and an abundance of weapons for gamers to wield. As Halloween rolled around, Vampire Survivors unveiled the “Ode to Castlevania” expansion, which was highly acclaimed as one of the top DLCs of 2024 due to its captivating music, extensive character roster, and meticulous attention to detail.

As we move into 2025, the creators of “Vampire Survivors” have shared an update on their development plan, known as the Chaos Roadmap, with the game’s players. In a post on the Steam page for “Vampire Survivors”, the developers noted that extra time will be needed for quality assurance due to the multitude of platforms the game is currently available on. Rather than releasing updates more frequently like in 2024, they plan to increase the amount of content in each update while making them less frequent. The main focus areas for these updates include stage recycling, pickups, and the Darkanas. Although they will continue to produce paid DLC or expansions, the team plans to scale back on releases as large as “Ode to Castlevania” due to the complexities involved, but still aim to create at least one more original expansion.

Even though it’s been around for over two years, Vampire Survivors is still one of the top-tier pixel art games out there. With additional features being added through free updates, it’s hard to predict what more surprises await Vampire Survivors fans by 2025.
