Sharkmob is shutting down Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, the free-to-play battle royale game. While it first came out in 2021, development stopped in 2023 when the creators announced they wouldn’t be adding any new content.
The team at Sharkmob is shutting down Bloodhunt permanently, taking the game’s servers offline on April 28, 2026.
Bloodhunt, Laid to Rest
Sharkmob recently announced that their game, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, will be shutting down.
We’ve been so grateful for the incredible passion and dedication you’ve shown for Bloodhunt over the last four years. Your feedback, creativity, and enthusiasm have meant everything to us. Unfortunately, even with such an amazing community, the number of players has dropped to a point where we can no longer afford to keep the game servers running.
This has led us to make the difficult decision to take Bloodhunt offline.
Okay, so the sun’s about to come up here in Prague, and it’s with some pretty sad news. We’re shutting down the Bloodhunt servers on April 28, 2026. After that date, unfortunately, the game won’t be playable anymore. It’s been a fun ride, but it’s time to say goodbye.
The game will continue to be playable as normal until a certain date, after which it will no longer be available to download or play. Before the shutdown, Sharkmob has removed tokens from sale, but you can still use any in-game credits you have left in the store.
In the closing words of the release, Sharkmob wrote:
We’re so grateful you joined us on this adventure. We hope you’ll cherish your memories of Prague – its rooftops and hidden streets – just as much as we do.
Bloodhunt officially launched on Steam in 2022 after a period of early access, attracting a dedicated player base for its unique battle royale experience. While it initially reached a peak of nearly 29,500 players, recent numbers show a much smaller audience, with only around 600 players active in the last 24 hours.
Bloodhunt hasn’t broken 1,000 concurrent players on Steam since October 2024.
