Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 dev diary shows new characters

As a seasoned fan with decades of immersion into the world of Vampire: The Masquerade, I can hardly contain my excitement as Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room unveil the intriguing characters that will populate the streets of Seattle in Bloodlines 2. The Unbound and Anarch Movement have always been the beating heart of this dark fantasy, and the depth and complexity promised here are a testament to the developers’ understanding of the source material.

The developers Paradox Interactive, in collaboration with The Chinese Room, have unveiled some of the non-Camarilla characters set to appear in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. In a fresh developer diary, writer Cherish Goldstraw and narrative director Ian Thomas elaborated on the Unbound, Kindred who operate outside the Camarilla, as well as the Anarch Movement which embodies the Unbound’s aim of regaining control over Seattle.

As a fervent enthusiast, I’d express it like this: I belong to the group of vampires known as the Unbound, which encompasses all those who lie outside the Camarilla’s sphere. Within this vast category, the Anarch Movement emerges, taking on various shapes and forms. Some of us yearn for freedom from Camarilla rule, choosing to hide in the shadows. However, those devoted to the Movement have opted for a bolder approach, aiming to seize and dominate territories once claimed by our self-proclaimed masters. The Anarch Movement differs dramatically from city to city. In some urban landscapes, an Anarch stronghold might be governed by a figurehead known as a Baron. More often, it’s the lawless gangs that call the shots, each controlling their own domains. In certain cities, a delicate balance exists between Anarch and Camarilla vampires, with both sides eager to assert dominance over the territories they covet.

In this latest developer’s update for “The Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2”, we delve into some crucial characters, explore the historical background of the Thin-Bloods in Seattle, and much more.

  • Katsumi Ishizaki, Brujah Anarch Leader
    • Katsumi is a reluctant leader who maintains an uneasy peace with the Court. Find her at a bar called the Hole in the Wall with other Anarchs.
  • Max Weber, Brujah Unbound
    • Anywhere Max goes, so does his intimidating childe, Benny, the Camarilla sheriff. While their dynamic may raise an eyebrow or two, few challenge the duo in fear of what Benny could really do.
