The team responsible for creating games within The Tea Division has unveiled a demo for their latest project, Vanguard Exiles – an innovative auto-battler developed in collaboration with Richard Garfield.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Richard Garfield is the brain behind Magic: The Gathering, and this upcoming game provides a strategic gameplay experience that’s distinctly unique. According to its creators, each round will feature fresh situations, meaning no two turns will be identical.
Check out the gameplay trailer, below:
In an imaginative setting that combines magic and steam-powered technology after World War I, your objective remains straightforward: amass sufficient territory to claim victory, as your tactical choices on the battlefield determine whether you triumph magnificently or suffer a devastating loss.
In the game Vanguard Exiles, every unit possesses a unique identity, boasting its own specific appearance and a set of distinct traits and skills. Furthermore, each squad is customizable with various combinations of units and actions. Unlike conventional auto-battlers, combat is not merely automatic; instead, strategy plays a crucial role. To emerge victorious, players must exercise strategic thinking and make tough tactical choices throughout the gameplay.
Vanguard Exiles provides a vast set of intricate gameplay mechanics, designed subtly to instruct players on the finer points of gameplay rather than overwhelming them. At the end of each round, it reveals your chances of winning, helping you understand whether your strategy was smart but unfortunate or if luck played a significant role in your victory despite poor play. Each game presents new insights and opportunities to enhance your strategy against opponents, who are also improving their unique playing styles. The potential for strategic depth is limitless!
This demo provides a one-player scenario where you can engage with AI opponents. This helps you get acquainted with different Units and Actions before you begin competing against other players in Player vs Player (PvP), which will be available when Vanguard Exiles is launched on Steam Early Access.
Vanguard Exiles is coming to PC via Steam, the demo is out now.
