Viewfinder: How to Get the Battery on Level 6.3 (Optical Illusion Puzzle)

As players explore each location in Viewfinder, the puzzles become more difficult. The first set of challenges teaches you the basic gameplay, and later levels require you to combine everything you’ve learned to solve increasingly complex situations – like constructing bridges and manipulating perspectives and angles.

Chapter 3 introduces more challenging and imaginative perception puzzles in Viewfinder. Many players struggle with the final level of the sixth teleporter, so this guide will walk you through getting the battery, activating the teleporter, and progressing the story.

How to Solve Viewfinder Chapter 3 Level 6.3

In Chapter 3 of Viewfinder, players will encounter several optical illusions that present a unique type of puzzle.

In Level 6.3, players need to find batteries to power up and use a teleporter. There appears to be a battery between four pillars, but it’s actually an illusion and can’t be collected.

How to Get the Battery in Viewfinder Chapter 3 Level 6.3

The trick to getting the battery is to not get too close to it – that’s when the illusion becomes apparent. A hidden camera in the room allows players to retrieve the battery without it getting jammed.

To succeed, players need to avoid stepping onto the wooden floor. If they do, the trick will be revealed, and they won’t be able to get the battery. If a player accidentally walks onto the wood, they’ll have to start the level over.

To get the battery, players need to immediately go to the camera at the start of the level and take a distant photo of it. Then, they should go back to the teleporter charging station and put the photo right on top. Importantly, the photo needs to be positioned at an angle so the battery falls through the picture and onto the floor.

I was totally stuck on this level in Viewfinder! It turns out you can’t actually get close to the battery – it’s another one of those optical illusions the game throws at you. Luckily, if you mess up your positioning, you can just rewind time and try again. I found this awesome video that shows exactly how to solve it, and it really helped me out!
