As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, let me share some thoughts on Visions of Mana and its difficulty settings.

The initial experience with “Visions of Mana” will prompt you to select a level of challenge for your gameplay. In total, the game offers four options: Beginner, Easy, Normal, and Hard.

If you’re curious about whether you can adjust the game’s difficulty level in ‘Visions of Mana’ later, or if you’d like to understand what each difficulty setting entails, continue to read on.

Indeed! You can adjust the challenge level as you progress through “Visions of Mana”, however, it’s important to note that you won’t be able to alter it in the midst of a battle scenario.

It’s important to mention that you can’t adjust the game’s difficulty until after you progress past the opening scene of “Visions of Mana” and take command of the main character, Val.

As a game enthusiast, I’d adjust the challenge level by navigating to the main menu and diving into the Options. There, you’ll find the difficulty control tucked under the Language Settings within the Game Settings area.

What are the Differences Between Difficulty Options?

In the introduction, it was noted that Visions of Mana offers four options for setting the game’s difficulty level: Beginner, Easy, Normal, and Hard.

According to our tests, it appears that as the challenge level increases, enemies will inflict more harm upon you, and you’ll also dish out less damage with your attacks. Consequently, playing the game in Hard mode means it will take a considerable amount of time to defeat both bosses and common opponents.

Is There a Difficulty Trophy/Achievement for Visions of Mana?

As a dedicated trophy collector like myself, I understand your concerns about missing out on an elusive trophy or achievement tied to completing the game on a specific difficulty level. But fret not! Although there’s one trophy linked to defeating a certain boss on Hard mode, you don’t need to endure the entire game at that level to claim the achievement. The tricky boss in question might reveal too much if I name it here, but you can find both the trophy/achievement name and the boss’s identity below for your convenience.

To win the trophy known as “The Spawn of Calamity,” you need to defeat Aeve Zalaha in her challenging difficulty setting.
