In *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, “The Dark Hearts” is a quest available during Act 3. As a Hunt-type quest, it requires players to control Hornet as she searches Pharloom for specific items. To complete this quest, players need to eliminate several Void Masses.
How To Trigger Dark Hearts Quest In Silksong
To start the Dark Hearts quest in Silksong, you’ll need to reach Act 3 and collect a wish from the Bellhart Wish Board. The people are scared of the Void Masses appearing throughout the land and want them gone. To finish the quest, Hornet has to destroy 12 of these Void Masses, and she’ll receive a Mask Fragment as a reward.
Void Mass Locations In Silksong
While exploring Pharloom in *Silksong*, you’ll encounter over 40 Void Masses. Luckily, you only need to defeat 12 of them to finish the Dark Hearts quest. Here are some locations near Bellhart, though many more can be found throughout the game.
Void Mass Location #1
Okay, so starting from Bellhart, you want to head right and take the elevator up. Then, you basically just run to the left and climb those ledges – that’ll get you to Shellwood. Once you’re there, look under one of the platforms; that’s where you’ll find the Void Mass!
Void Mass Location #2
Keep going left and glide down under the cliff to find another Void Mass.
Void Mass Location #3
Stick to the lower path and head left into a large open space. Near the entrance to a room at the top, Hornet will discover a Void Mass attached to the wall.
Void Mass Location #4
Turn left and head through the lower doorway. Continue straight until you reach the bench by Bone Bottom. You’ll find yourself in a long, narrow room where a Void Mass is lodged in the ceiling.
Void Mass Location #5
Okay, so to get there, I usually go to The Marrow from Shellwood, or sometimes I use the Needle to call those little Bell Beasts back to Bellway and just teleport. Once you’re at Bellway, turn left and head down – you’ll find another Void Mass off to the right, kind of hidden in a corner underneath a platform. It’s a little tucked away, but definitely worth checking out!
Void Mass Location #6
Okay, so you head to the right and basically slide down to the bottom of this tall room. Then, drop down a bit further and you’ll see this dark, shadowy thing – a Void Mass – up on the left. You’ll need to use the floating platforms to get over there and get rid of it.
Void Mass Location #7
Okay, so you need to climb all the way to the top of that tall, vertical room. Once you’re up there, turn right and you’ll see a Void Mass on the roof – it’s near a red light, so you can’t miss it. You gotta destroy it!
Void Mass Location #8
Head to the right and glide down, passing a bench. Feel free to stop and rest there if you need to, then keep going to the right – you’ll find a Void Mass higher up in that area.
Void Mass Location #9
Head straight into Deep Docks to discover the remaining areas in *Silksong*. Continue forward, and then climb up through the second tall room – you’ll find a Void Mass at the top.
Void Mass Location #10
Look up and to the left to find a dark growth clinging to the side of a platform over the lava. Once you’ve dealt with the nearby enemies, use a downward attack to quickly remove it.
Players can find a Void Mass on the roof in Hunter’s March, above two enemies. However, it’s optional – there are plenty of other Void Masses available if you’d prefer to skip that area.
Void Mass Location #11
Head back to Deep Docks and then go right into Far Fields. Continue upwards and to the right until you reach the next area. You’ll find the Void Mass stuck to the ceiling, guarded by enemies.
Void Mass Location #12
Okay, so I need to head back to the last room. Then, I’ve gotta glide down to that lower section. Once I’m down there, I need to sprint to the right – I think there’s a Void Mass hidden under one of the platforms near the lava. Time to go find it!
Hornet has collected everything needed. Now, go back to Bellhart and give him the Void Masses to finish the Dark Hearts quest.
