As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen and played it all – from the simplest shoot ’em ups to the most complex RPGs. When I first laid eyes on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, I was eager to jump in and unleash some righteous Ultramarine fury. But as I delved deeper into this horde shooter, I found myself yearning for a challenge that would truly test my mettle.
When you initially jump into a swarm shooter game, you’re seeking that intense sensation of dominance. You choose one of the simpler difficulty settings to effortlessly vanquish each adversary you encounter. However, as you familiarize yourself with the maps and mechanics, dispatching enemies becomes almost routine, and you crave a greater test. It’s then that you increase the challenge level. To aid in your choice, here’s an overview of the campaign difficulty modes in Space Marine 2!
All Difficulty Modes in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 offers four levels of campaign difficulty: Easy, Normal, Veteran, and Angel of Death. Developers Saber Interactive aim to add a tougher difficulty level at some point during the game’s first year, as outlined in their development plan
If you prefer a smooth and uncomplicated journey with a sense of power, start on the Easy level. It’s quite enjoyable! For those who want a little more difficulty while maintaining the feeling of being an Ultramarine, Normal is a great choice. However, the game advises Veteran. I wouldn’t recommend that for beginners as it might be overwhelming initially
Easy Mode
- Balanced for a better story experience
- Enemies are less aggressive
- Health and Armour are greatly increased
Normal Mode
- Presents a fair gameplay challenge
- Enemies are moderately aggressive
- Resources need to be managed wisely
Veteran Mode
- Set up as the intended experience
- Enemies are dangerous
- Tactical and skillful play is rewarded
Angel of Death Mode
- Introduces serious challenge
- Enemies are tougher and more aggressive
- Recovery after mistakes is much harder
The various levels of difficulty in this game affect the amount of armor you begin with, making some battles effortless while others can be incredibly frustrating. As you master the game’s evasion and blocking techniques, though, you’ll likely want to challenge yourself by increasing the difficulty to Veteran or Angel of Death
