Warzone Ranked Play “unplayable” as Bunker Buster duplication exploit takes over

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update has been a rollercoaster ride, to put it mildly. The Killstreak duplication glitch, particularly with the Bunker Buster, has turned Ranked Play into a virtual warzone (pun intended).

In the latest update for Season 5 of Warzone, there’s been an issue where a Killstreak duplication bug arises, causing an unending barrage of Bunker Busters. This glitch significantly disrupts the competitive Ranked Play mode.

The “Bunker Buster” is an intense explosive weapon that targets individuals within structures, releasing harmful gas that inflicts damage on those in close proximity. Unfortunately, due to a recent bug, it seems there’s no way to dodge its effects as it can no longer be avoided.

“I won’t provide details on how to replicate this cheat, but any object can be copied, giving the user an infinite supply. This isn’t the first duplication bug in Warzone, but the Bunker Buster glitch on the compact Rebirth Island map exacerbates the problem significantly.”

Reports really kicked off on Friday, August 23, and have only gotten more common as the weekend rolled on. Now, social media is ablaze with players complaining about the glitch and begging the devs for a fix.

Reddit user ‘phersper’ stated, “The matches have become nearly unwinnable. By the end of each game, at least one team is launching over 50 [Bunker Busters].”

KrispylC responded, “The game stopped working due to having 23 Bunker Busters on the map at the same time.”

On X/Twitter, ‘Solgob’ expressed frustration that they had encountered the same exploit in two consecutive games, as they watched players detonate approximately 200 bunker busters and drones in Warzone. Their tweet features numerous UAVs lying on the ground. Similarly, ‘Wumpalive’ posted a screenshot showing a large number of Bunker Busters scattered across the floor.

At the moment of composition, the developers have yet to reply, however, given the high volume of complaints and its significant impact on Ranked Play, it’s highly probable that it is currently their highest concern.

In the meantime, if the Bunker Buster is temporarily disabled while a solution is found, players might switch to utilizing the next strongest item as an alternative. This means they would continue to have an unlimited supply of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Gas Masks, and Airstrikes. If you’re exploiting the system, be prepared for at least a temporary ban.
