As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Warzone‘s latest update has left me feeling like Goldilocks in the porridge story – there are just too many weapons to choose from!
In the blog post discussing all the updates for Warzone and Black Ops 6 in season one, it was disclosed that there will be a total of 177 weapons available for players to select. Interestingly, most of these weapons seem largely ineffective when used collectively, with players tending to spend most of their time using only a few select ones.
That collection includes a whopping 33 assault rifles and 30 SMGs.
When is enough enough?
Too Many Weps
As an avid player, I can’t help but feel that Call of Duty: Warzone could use a refresh. Over time, games have merged into the Warzone universe and their firearms have joined the battlefield, which is great in theory, but it has led to an increasingly chaotic experience as we move forward. With the arrival of season one, Warzone now boasts an impressive arsenal of 177 weapons for players to select from.
That breakdown looks something like this:
- Assault Rifles – 33
- Battle Rifles – 10
- SMGs – 30
- Shotguns – 13
- LMGs – 16
- Marksman Rifles – 17
- Sniper Rifles – 16
- Pistols – 17
- Launchers – 9
- Melee – 15
The collection comprises 60 weapons from Modern Warfare III, 77 from Modern Warfare II, and 40 from Black Ops 6. Eventually, something must be adjusted since maintaining the balance and upkeep on all 177 weapons is likely becoming quite demanding for Activision’s development teams.
On November 14th, Warzone will introduce a fresh Resurgence map called Area 99, modeled after Nuketown. This compact map is nestled within the Nevada desert, representing a clandestine weapons testing facility constructed in the 1950s. The setting has an almost post-apocalyptic aesthetic, and it’s expected to offer a smooth gameplay experience as well.
In the latest season one update, I’m excited to jump back into action on old favorites like Urzkistan and Rebirth Island, which are making their comeback within the Call of Duty: Warzone universe!
In the year to come, it’s time for us to make our comeback to Verdansk, a location we last visited in 2021. This significant reunion is bound to create excitement among Warzone enthusiasts around the globe.
