Warzone’s best guns hit with major nerfs in Season 5 Reloaded

As a seasoned Warzone gamer with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the Season 5 Reloaded update has certainly shaken things up. The STG44 and Static-HV, my go-to weapons for long and close-range fights respectively, have received some hefty nerfs.

In the latest update for Warzone Season 5 Reloaded, several adjustments were made to weapon balancing with the intention of mixing things up in the game’s metagame. It seems these changes are effective as two powerful guns that have ruled this season have been significantly weakened.

After both were added at the start of Season 5, the STG44 and Static-HV have been considered the two strongest guns in the entire game. The WW2 Assault Rifle has been the king of long-range fights, while the SMG has blown away the competition at close range.

Specifically, the Static-HV weapon has been significantly impacted by the mid-season update. It’s taken a hit in terms of its overall damage range, as well as decreases in its headshot, leg, and foot modifiers. The most significant changes include a reduction of the near to mid damage range from 30.48 meters to 25.4 meters, and a decrease in the headshot damage multiplier from 1.4 times to 1.2 times.

Essentially, the optimal damage range for the SMG has been shortened by about five meters. This makes it less powerful in mid-range combat. Moreover, the headshot adjustment noticeably decreases the time-to-kill at close quarters. Consequently, guns similar to the Superi 46 can now challenge the SMG in close combat.

In a recent update, the STG44 received a flattened buff, reducing its maximum damage from 36 to 32. This means that regardless of your distance, where you aim, and which accessories you’re using, the Assault Rifle will never deal more than 34 health points per shot.

Just as the Static weapon has a significant influence, it will drastically reduce its time to eliminate in any scenario, making it competitive with top-tier weapons such as the SVA 545.

Time will reveal the extent to which these guns are impacted by the changes (nerfs) and whether they’ll continue to be widely used. Regardless, it’s likely that assault rifles like the MCW and submachine guns such as the FJX Horus might become more common in the game as we approach Warzone Season 6.

As a fellow gamer, if you’re into the thrill of multiplayer battles, rest assured that neither gun has received any nerfs in Modern Warfare 3. These weapons remain unaltered in their power and effectiveness!
