Most survival games require players to manage their hydration, and StarRupture is no different. Even though the game takes place on another planet, characters still need water to live, so the planet thankfully has sources of water available.
Staying hydrated in StarRupture isn’t always easy. Unlike some games, you can’t just find a water source and drink. Many players struggle to figure out how to replenish their hydration, so here’s a guide on getting and drinking water in StarRupture.
How To Get Water In StarRupture
Okay, so in StarRupture, finding water isn’t as simple as just walking up and drinking it. You gotta scout around for actual water sources – usually little streams or lakes. But the cool part is, once you find water, you need to look for the plants growing nearby. That’s how you actually get water in the game!
Hydrobulbs are plants you can collect in the game. When used, they restore 15 hydration points to your character. You can also analyze them at the Analyzing Station to gain 5 Data Points. Because they’re often found in large quantities, Hydrobulbs are a reliable way to collect Data Points in StarRupture.
Once you’ve obtained the Hydrobulb, open your inventory to find it. Click the button to view its options – this is typically done by right-clicking the item.
Click the ‘Use’ button to have your character drink the Hydrobulb, restoring their hydration.
Hydrobulbs are essential in the early game of StarRupture – they’re your primary source of water. As you progress, you can improve how you use them by crafting upgraded versions at the Recipe Station. With a little effort, you’ll be able to create even more effective Hydrobulbs.
