Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 4, Episode 2 Preview: It’s Time to Face the Music

While it might not become the most popular isekai anime this season, Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun is quickly gaining fans. Over three seasons, the show has become surprisingly strong with its exciting battles, funny moments, and compelling characters. Because of this, Season 4 is looking like its best season yet, and the second episode promises to keep viewers hooked.

The end of season three and the beginning of season four of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun set up the Abnormal Class’s next big challenge. Now that the Harvest Festival is over, they’re focusing on the Music Festival, which could be their last chance to get promoted to Dalet. Everyone needs to give it their all, and Iruma Suzuki has a surprising new teammate: the usually quiet Purson Soi. He’s a hidden talent who’s expected to be a star during the upcoming music event.

The Music Festival is a Challenge Unlike Any Other For Iruma’s Class

Action and Aggression Won’t Thrive in the Music Festival

Many isekai anime feature challenges where the main characters must prove themselves through physical battles, like fighting monsters or competing in tournaments. Even powerful characters like Rimuru from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime sometimes struggled or faced setbacks. Similarly, in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, the characters dealt with intense physical challenges and tests of skill and bravery. Now, the focus is shifting away from violent conflicts, making room for more creative and inventive storylines.

It’s not surprising that Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 4, Episode 2 won’t deliver the intense action of shows like Solo Leveling or Wistoria: Wand and Sword. Iruma-kun is fundamentally a story about personal growth, and its school setting emphasizes that. It’s more akin to My Hero Academia than typical fantasy action series. Iruma isn’t becoming a powerful fighter like Rimuru; he’s focused on developing his abilities and understanding, and right now, that development is happening through music.

This new musical challenge is exactly what Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun needed. Previously, competitions focused on strength and fighting, giving students like Sabnock Sabro and Allocer Schneider an advantage. But now, students must form bands and perform music to earn promotions. This levels the playing field, as it forces the Abnormal Class to rely on skill rather than their powerful inherited abilities. While anyone can participate, it also means they can’t simply depend on their unique talents to succeed.

Season 4 of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, starting with Episode 2, promises to be its most delightful and imaginative season yet. The story shifts focus away from battles with enemies like Amy and Baal, and instead centers on the school’s Music Festival. This event will truly make Babyls feel like a vibrant school environment where students explore their identities and express themselves creatively. The series suggests that art is a powerful way for anyone – even young demons – to reveal who they really are, and Iruma might discover something about himself through it. However, the student most likely to shine during this artistic endeavor is the unusually gifted, and often unseen, member of the Abnormal Class.

Purson Soi Will Finally Make Something of Himself

Purson is No Longer a Long-Running Cameo or Easter Egg

Purson Soi, a student in the Abnormal Class, is about to become a standout performer. Throughout Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, he’s had very little focus, and now we understand why. He’s finally taking center stage in the Spring 2026 anime season thanks to Naberius Kalego, and Iruma’s classmates are amazed by what they’re seeing. Purson Soi has always remained hidden due to his family’s unique magical abilities and strict rules, but that’s all changing now.

I’ve been watching Purson Soi, and he’s a bit of a hidden gem. He’s surprisingly outgoing, and actually lets loose by playing the trumpet – it’s like he’s been holding a lot in! It turns out he’s been unknowingly preparing for the Music Festival for a while now, which makes me think he could be the standout student in the Abnormal Class this season. He really came out of nowhere – he went from being a background character to actively supporting his friends, and it feels like a clever way to start his own story.

Iruma Suzuki definitely understands this – he values good character and unique abilities far more than fighting skills. He and Soi are teaming up to help their teacher and prepare the Abnormal Class for a truly unusual challenge. If they succeed, everyone might just earn a promotion to the prestigious Royal One classroom.
