Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a competitive racing game featuring beloved characters from the Sonic universe, with even more racers joining through expansions. True to the spirit of Sonic, the game balances intense competition with opportunities for friendly interaction.
At first, the Friendship feature in *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* isn’t available, but it eventually lets players personalize their vehicles and characters even further, allowing them to show off their fandom. This guide will explain how to unlock Friendship and what it adds to the game.
What Are Friendships in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds?
Sonic has collected both rivals and allies throughout his adventures. In *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds*, the Friendship mode lets players earn special rewards and customize their favorite characters. You do this by giving characters Donpa Tickets, which are the game’s currency.
In CrossWorlds, friendships come in different levels, and each level requires more Donpla Tickets to unlock. While upgrading to higher tiers costs more, you’ll receive better rewards like character decals and unique skins.
How To Unlock Friendships in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

Finding friends in *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* isn’t too difficult, though it does require effort. To access the friend feature, you’ll first need to win all of the regular Grand Prix races in the game. Completing the Secret Grand Prix isn’t part of this requirement.
You need to win seven Grand Prix races before you can unlock the Friendships feature in the game. Here they are:
- Donpa (E-Stadium, Rainbow Garden, and Water Palace)
- Wisp (Metal Harbor, Sand Road, and Colorful Mall)
- Boom Boo (Mystic Jungle, Apotos, and Wonder Museum)
- Pumpkin (Crystal Mine, Ocean View, and Pumpkin Mansion)
- Coral (Urban Canyon, Market Street, and Coral Town)
- Crystal (Blizzard Valley, Radical Highway, and Chao Park)
- Egg (Donpa Factory, Aqua Forest, and Eggman Expo)
Okay, so each Grand Prix is basically four races long. You race on three different tracks, and then for the final race, you go back and do one lap on each of those three tracks again. It all comes down to points – you get points depending on how well you do in each race, and whoever has the most points after that last race is the champion! It’s super exciting to see it all play out.
