Like many recent *Pokémon* games, *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* asks players for their birthday. After progressing through the story and meeting Emma in the mission “The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower,” you can enter your birthdate at any Pokémon Center.
Just like in other Pokémon games, you can’t change your birthday in *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* once you’ve set it, so double-check your selection! However, the in-game reward for playing on your birthday isn’t very special, so a mistake won’t ruin your experience.
What Happens If You Play Pokemon Legends: Z-A on Your Birthday?
If you visit a Pokémon Center on your character’s birthday, the Nurse will greet you with a ‘Happy Birthday’ message in French, and confetti will briefly fall. However, you won’t receive any special gifts or be able to see the message again on the same day. While you can change the date on your Nintendo Switch to experience it again, most players probably won’t find it worth the effort.
How Does the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Birthday Message Compare to Other Pokemon Games?
The birthday message in *Pokemon Legends: Z-A* is similar to the one in *Pokemon Scarlet & Violet*, though the version in *Scarlet & Violet* has slightly more colorful visuals. Neither game gives you any gifts or rewards for your birthday (or the date you entered in the game), so you’re not missing out on anything by playing *Pokemon Legends: Z-A* on your special day.
