In the game called Atomfall, the players possess the ability to eliminate every significant non-player character (NPC) within the game. With no exceptions, these characters meet their demise at the hands of the player’s lethal neck-snapping moves. However, some players are pondering what consequences arise if you kill everyone in Atomfall, and whether wiping out every NPC will prevent you from accessing an ending.
As an avid player of Atomfall, I’ve found myself in a position where I’ve taken out nearly two dozen named characters. These NPCs, if spared, would have given me valuable leads. However, there are compelling reasons to engage them in combat. This guide will walk you through the consequences when every major NPC in Atomfall meets their end. Here, you’ll find a comprehensive list of all the mortal, killable characters – just like the random Druids, Protocol Soldiers, and Outlaws that inhabit these harsh, verdant lands.
All Atomfall NPCs You Can Kill
In your gameplay, once you eliminate any of the game’s eighteen significant characters, they won’t be alive for the remainder of your session, and their bodies will vanish after a while if thoroughly searched. Killing Atomfall NPCs typically rewards you with unique items from their remains that you might have obtained by fulfilling their requests or Leads – such as keys, keycards, valuable intelligence, special weapons, and various other goods.
Consider your actions thoroughly before choosing to harm these characters irreversibly, for once they’re gone, there’s no way to revive them, not even by loading an earlier game save.
- The Scientist (starting bunker)
- Nat Buckshaw (South Slatten Dale)
- Molly Jowett (North Slatten Dale)
- Reg Stansfield (Slate Mine, between Slatten Dale & Skethermoor)
- Vicar McHenry (St. Katherine’s Church)
- Captain Grant Sims (Village Hall)
- Morris Wick (Village Shop)
- Iris & Philip Baxter (Village Bakery)
- Alf Buckshaw (Grendel’s Head Pub)
- Prudence Rook (Datlow Hall in Casterfell Woods)
- Mother Jago (Old Mine in North Casterfell Woods)
- Joyce Tanner (Protocol Bunker Southwest of Old Mine, or Data Store Charlie if powered)
- Billy Gorse (South of Casterfell Dam)
- Dr. Alan Holder (Forgotten Cellar below Church)
- Corporal “Bootsy” Hughes (Skethermoor)
- Ilya Kozlov (Bunker behind Brinsop Manor in Skethermoor)
- Nora Thorndike (Nora’s Barn in North Skethermoor)
- Dr. Garrow (Skethermoor Prison or Central Processor if freed)
In Atomfall, you’re absolutely able to eliminate various non-player characters such as Protocol Soldiers, Druids, Outlaws, and other adversaries during your gameplay. However, keep in mind that if these characters aren’t explicitly named, they will reappear after a while. Unlike in games like Avowed, the elimination of generic enemies in Atomfall doesn’t result in their permanent removal from the game.
If you eliminate a Protocol Soldier in Wyndham Village, expect an endless onslaught of reinforcements from the entire squad. This means you’ll be engaged in relentless combat against continuously resurging soldiers until you manage to flee or meet your end.
What Happens If You Kill Everyone In Atomfall?
You Can Still Finish The Game, But At What Cost?

In the game Atomfall, there’s a significant character who players cannot eliminate. Interestingly, this character remains elusive and unseen by players for most of the game. If you manage to exterminate all other characters in Atomfall, the enigmatic figure known as The Voice On The Telephone will still provide an escape route from the Quarantine Zone.
Correctly speaking, even if all other significant characters in the Atomfall story are deceased and it was you who caused their demise, the Voice on the Phone would still collaborate with you. If you manage to eliminate every character from Atomfall, you might find yourself short of leads or unable to reach any other ending, only having access to the Voice On The Phone’s escape plan.
A more efficient route to finishing the game would be to eliminate every character. However, this method would deprive you of a rich storyline and may cause feelings of remorse upon eliminating the intricately developed, lifelike, and frequently compassionate characters (though they might be British in the game).
