A major mystery for One Piece fans right now is figuring out what powers Imu actually has. Imu is currently the series’ biggest villain, and it’s obvious they’re extremely strong.

They are incredibly powerful – even the Rocks Pirates couldn’t stand against them, as shown in the recent flashback. Besides the power of Uranus, Imu possesses a Devil Fruit that grants abilities like Domi Reversi, among others. While Oda hasn’t officially named Imu’s Devil Fruit, its abilities are clear, and it’s evident that Imu has a connection to the Earth God.

Imu Is The Earth God Of The One Piece World

The introduction of Harley in One Piece officially confirmed the existence of multiple Gods within the series. While fans were already aware of the Sun God, the reveal of the Forest God and Earth God sparked a lot of interest. Considering this, it’s widely believed that Imu is one of these powerful, god-like beings – a God among Gods in the world of One Piece.

Considering all the information Oda has shared about Imu, it’s highly likely they are the embodiment of the Earth God. The strongest evidence comes from the First World, where the Earth God battled the Sun God using the Serpent of Hellfire – which is essentially the Red Line.

In the Second World, there’s also a being known as the Earth God, and currently, Imu wields its power. While the Sun God represents freedom, the Earth God embodies control and oppression – just like it did in the First World when it was in charge. This suits Imu perfectly, considering their ability to use Domi Reversi and enslave others.

Imu’s Devil Fruit Could Be Tied To The Leviathan

Oda hasn’t revealed what the Earth God actually is, but the creature Imu transforms into strongly resembles the Leviathan. We first saw Imu take this form during the Reverie when Sabo attacked, and they effortlessly absorbed his flames.

Imu And Luffy Are Destined To Fight

The final arc of One Piece is moving quickly, and most fans expect a showdown between Luffy and Imu. Luffy represents freedom and the end of oppression – he’s often described as a Sun God who liberates people. In contrast, Imu is seen as a powerful, controlling force who keeps the world enslaved.
