Experienced ARC Raiders players who are looking for a real challenge can now try a new, difficult mode called Solos vs Squads. As the name suggests, it pits a single player against a team, and we’ve got a complete guide to help you understand how it works.
ARC Raiders just got even more challenging! The recent January Headwinds Update added a new game mode called Solos Vs Squads, and it’s a bit confusing for players. This explanation should help clear things up for all you Raiders out there.
How To Play Solo Vs Squads Matchmaking In ARC Raiders

Okay, so after I updated ARC Raiders with the Headwinds update, I noticed a new setting pop up in the matchmaking area – it’s down in the bottom corner and says ‘Solos vs. Squads.’ That’s actually what controls how hard it is to find a match, so if you’re looking for a real challenge, that’s where you need to look!
Here are some quick steps to help you out:
- Boot up your copy of ARC Raiders.
- Make sure the Headwinds Update is installed and ready to go.
- Go to the main menu.
- Select the matchmaking box in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Highlight Solo vs. Squads.
- Have it set to ON.
- ARC Raiders will find a Solo Vs Squads match for you.
What Level Do You Need To Be To Play Solo Vs Squads In ARC Raiders?
You have to be at least Level 40 to queue up for Solo Vs Squads matchmaking in ARC Raiders.
Level 39 players should be prepared for a real challenge. This game mode isn’t for beginners or even those with some experience. Solo Vs Squads is extremely difficult, designed for skilled and veteran players. If you join, expect to face tough, coordinated squads who are likely to win. The other players are often a bigger threat than the chaotic enemies!
What Is Solo Vs Squads Matchmaking In ARC Raiders?

In ARC’s Solo vs. Squads mode, you’ll drop onto the Sperenza map and face off against full teams of players while playing as a lone wolf.
Let me tell you, playing Solo vs. Squads is seriously intense! It’s way harder than fighting just bots because you’re up against real players, and they’re much more unpredictable. You’ve got to be super careful and really prepared for a fight, because when you get into one, it’s going to be a tough battle, that’s for sure!
There are reasons to put yourself through this, though.
Why Should You Play Solo Vs Squads Matchmaking In ARC Raiders?
I’ve been playing the Solo vs Squads mode in ARC Raiders, and it’s awesome! You get a ton of extra XP for every enemy you take down and every time you successfully get out of a raid. It’s definitely the fastest way to level up.
This game mode doesn’t offer unique rewards – you’ll only earn more experience points. That might not be enough to attract many players, and it’s probably not meant to be the most popular way to play.
Embark has introduced a new matchmaking option called “Solo vs Squads” for skilled PvP players. Raiders level 40 and up can enable the “Solo vs Squad” toggle before joining the matchmaking queue to face off against teams of players. As a reward, players who choose this option will receive a 20% XP bonus for both successfully extracting and defeating opponents at the end of each round.
Wondering if you’re ready to jump in and play? Think the experience gained is worth it, even without great rewards? Let us know on the TopMob Discord if you’re planning to play alone, or if you’d like to chat about ARC Raiders with others!
