To unlock the Cloister of Ruination in Crimson Desert, you must first defeat three Antumbra bosses located within specific sanctums. Visiting the cloister before completing this task won’t yield any results – it will appear empty except for a boss that only spawns once you’ve met the necessary conditions. Here’s a guide to what awaits inside the Cloister of Ruination and how to unlock its hidden boss in Crimson Desert.

What To Do In The Cloister Of Ruination In Crimson Desert

To unseal the Cloister of Ruination, you need to complete four steps:

  • Defeat Antumbra’s Staff in Sanctum of Soalce
  • Defeat Antumbra’s Sword in Sanctum of Absolution
  • Defeat Antumbra’s Spear in Sanctum of Revelation
  • Grab Antumbra’s Spear from the Sanctum of Revelation

After you beat one of the Antumbra bosses, you’ll learn about a powerful enemy named Ator, the Antumbra Archon. He’s the final boss hidden inside the Cloister of Ruination.

Each boss in Antumbra is found within a witch’s Sanctum. You can defeat the bosses and continue the Cloister of Ruination quest without needing to purify these Sanctums first.

Be careful, these areas are full of enemies, and some will even help the boss during the fight. The Sanctums are located all over Pywel, and some are hard to get to, so make sure you’re ready for a challenge.

The bosses in Antumbra are generally doable if you know what to expect and are ready for their powerful attacks, which can defeat you in a single hit. Many of them have a trick to make the fight easier – for example, you can avoid a dangerous attack from Antumbra’s Staff by using the Force Palm ability to block it.

After you’ve defeated all three forms of Antumbra, you’ll advance in the Faction Quest and receive a notification that you’ve removed all three seals blocking access to the underground area of the Cloister of Ruination.

Travel to the Cloister of Ruination and descend to its lowest level to encounter Ator, the Antumbra Archon.

Cloister Of Ruination Location In Crimson Desert

The Cloister of Ruination lies to the west of Pailune, near Silver Wolf Mountain. You’ll discover it after venturing into the Wayward Woods.

Okay, so getting to the cloister is a bit of a trek from most Abyss Nexus points – be prepared for a journey! But here’s a tip: once you do get there, climb up to the highest spot nearby. You’ll find an Abyss Cresset, which is basically a fast-travel point. It won’t work until you break the seal, but after that, you can zip back super easily. It’s a huge time saver!

From the top, glide down through the tower to the lowest floor.

If you have done everything correctly, Ator appears and the fight will start. Enjoy the boss fight.
