As a seasoned Stalker, I’ve navigated the treacherous expanse of The Zone more times than I care to remember. From the haunting beauty of the Forgotten City to the terrifying depths of the Duga, I’ve seen it all… and then some. One thing that has always puzzled me is what to do with those broken or damaged weapons that I stumble upon.
In your journey through The Zone in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you’ll encounter a wealth of items to gather, ranging from PDAs, Artifacts, all the way to firearms such as the Lullaby and Riemann. Notably, when it comes to guns, certain ones you find during your exploration of the open world may display a red shield icon, signifying they are damaged or broken.
If you’ve found yourself dealing with these damaged weapons and pondering over possible solutions, let us guide you. Here’s some advice for handling shattered weaponry within the realm of Stalker 2, along with our suggested approach based on your preferred end result.
What to do with Broken guns in Stalker 2
- Repair it at a Technician
- Take the ammo and leave it
It’s not advisable to sell damaged weapons because fixing them to resell isn’t cost-effective as you won’t make any money. If you don’t plan on using the weapon, the most practical solution would be to remove the ammunition and discard it instead.
This all goes for broken weapons with the red shield icon, but you’ll also find weapons with a yellow shield icon.
What to do with damaged weapons in Stalker 2
In the thrilling world of Stalker 2, when you spot a yellow shield icon on one of your weapons, know that it’s not completely shattered – it’s merely battered and in need of some TLC. You can still wield it in battle, but its performance might be compromised. On the plus side, this damaged gear can fetch you some instant cash. However, remember that its resale value will be lower compared to undamaged weapons. It’s wise to sell them as they are, rather than investing time and resources into repairing them, as doing so could only diminish your earnings in the long run.
To monitor the durability of a weapon, simply look at its Durability value, located beneath the weapon information displayed when you hover your cursor over it within your inventory.
If you’re not particularly attached to the firearm, it might be wise to sell it. On the other hand, if you enjoy using the weapon and wish to keep it, consider getting it serviced for safety purposes.
