As a seasoned gamer with a heart full of nostalgia and eyes eager for innovation, I must say that Metaphor: ReFantazio has caught my attention like no other game in recent memory. The Masked Dancer Archetype is a breath of fresh air, offering an intriguing twist to the usual playstyles we’ve come to know.

ReFantazio boasts a variety of unique Characters, each with distinct game strategies or construction styles. One Character set to disrupt traditional Character patterns is the Masked Dancer, which possesses the power to adopt the elemental traits of other Characters.

In Akademia, masks are utilized through various means, initially crafted using the experiment system. To avoid any confusion, it’s important to note that players will acquire masks from battles before they unlock The Masked Dancer. Here’s a comprehensive guide on all things related to masks in the game.

The masks labeled with various Arcana symbols are components used for creating Archetype Masks. To unlock the ability to use these components, progress the story until you acquire the Masked Dancer Archetype, which occurs when your party reaches five members and is an unmissable event. Once obtained, head to Akademia where More will guide you through the experiment process. With these Arcana Mask pieces, you can manufacture masks for any of your available Archetypes, which can then be worn by a character utilizing the Masked Dancer Archetype.

You can only craft Masks of an Archetype you have already unlocked by ranking up followers.

To create Masks, navigate to the Special Experiments area within Akademia. Here, you’ll find a collection of Masks for each Archetype you possess, and the affinities associated with each Mask will be clearly outlined in their descriptions. Keep in mind that you’ll require several Arcana masks to craft a single Archetype Mask, and these experiments are irreversible.

How To Change Masks In Metaphor: ReFantazio

The one downside to Masks is that they take the accessory slot for that character. Junah will start with the Seeker Mask equipped, and other masks can be crafted and equipped on just like changing her accessory. Changing the Mask of that character will change their affinity to match that of the Archetype the Mask is named after. It is not required for a character using the Masked Dancer to have a Mask equipped, as they can also choose to equip another accessory and have the base affinities for the Masked Dancer.

Where To Get Masks In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Most of the Arcana Mask pieces can be gathered primarily through battles and investigations within the dungeons. However, it’s important to note that these pieces have designated spots on dungeon floors and in chests, which means there is a limited quantity available naturally within the game. Additionally, various enemies encountered after Brilehaven may randomly drop Masks, but this method might not be consistent for acquiring your desired masks.

Masks are available for purchase in a limited number of stores within the game. These particular stores change their stock according to the day of the week inside the game, with one located on Virga Island, which becomes accessible following the events at the Dragon Temple. The other store can be reached once you’ve unlocked the mask inventory.

  • Purchase “Secret Of The Eugief’s Stall” for 1,000 Reeve at the Virga Island informant.
