Donkey Kong Country Returns HD

2025 ushers in with a nostalgic tone as Donkey Kong Country Returns HD arrives on the Switch. First released for the Wii in 2010, this installment of the Donkey Kong series adds another enjoyable platformer to Nintendo’s latest console. When Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong’s banana stash is swiped by the Tiki Tak Tribe, players embark on an adventure to recover the lost bananas by exploring the island.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been longing for a brand-new Donkey Kong adventure on my Nintendo Switch. Although we’ve seen numerous ports of classic Donkey Kong games, it’s been quite some time since an original one graced our screens. The upcoming release of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is certainly exciting, but it stirs anticipation for something even more thrilling – a fresh, original Donkey Kong game. With the rumors swirling about the Switch 2, I can’t help but feel hopeful that my dreams might soon become reality!

Civilization 7

2025 will see one of the most anticipated console releases, “Civilization 7,” even though it’s not a first-party game. Fans of the strategy franchise have eagerly awaited this title for a while now, and finally, they won’t have to wait much longer since it’s set to launch on February 11. This high-profile game will be gracing the Switch in the middle of February.

Civilization 7 Biggest Features

  • A three-age structure that has players progress through Antiquity, Discovery, and Modern ages.
  • Crisis events
  • Streamlined Tech & Culture trees
  • More dynamic terrain and environments
  • Players can mix and match leaders and civilizations.

Tales of the Shire

A game that’s expected to be a fantastic complement to the Nintendo Switch is “Tales of the Shire”. This title, inspired by the “Lord of the Rings” franchise, deviates from the traditional “battle between good and evil” narrative found in the series and instead presents a comfortable life simulator centered around Hobbit lifestyle. Given that Hobbits enjoy leisurely activities, parties, and delicious food, the iconic creatures from Tolkien’s world make an ideal foundation for a life simulation game. The opportunity to customize a Hobbit hole and traverse the charming landscape of the Shire seems tailor-made for the Switch. “Tales of the Shire” is scheduled for release in March, bringing a touch of comfort to kick off spring.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Many enthusiasts of Nintendo have been eagerly waiting for news about the fourth mainline installment of the Metroid Prime series. Earlier this year, it was officially confirmed that it would be released in 2025, though the exact date remains undisclosed as of now. Given the strategic timing and Nintendo’s intention to announce their upcoming Switch 2 before the end of March, there’s speculation that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond could potentially be a major title they aim to promote for the Switch 2 launch. Keep in mind that this is just conjecture based on the circumstances.

Initially, Metroid Prime 4 was unveiled way back in 2017. Yet, the team decided to abandon the previous work in 2019, choosing instead to restart the development process entirely.

The Switch 2 and Port Rumors

As a fervent admirer of Nintendo’s creations, I’ve been buzzing with excitement over the whispers and hints that several iconic titles might be making their way to the Switch in 2025. Titles like “The Wind Waker,” “Kirby: Planet Robobot,” and a remastered version of “Metroid Prime 2” have been the talk of the town, fueling our anticipation. With the confirmation of backward compatibility for the rumored Switch 2, it seems like an ideal moment for these ports to surface, should they be true.

Switch 2 rumors have made claims of a larger console and magnetic Joy-Cons.

Switch 2 Releases May Be Announced Soon

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for any updates about the rumored Switch 2, and it seems some game developers have hinted that titles like “My Time at Evershine” are being crafted with this next-gen console in mind! With the official reveal date set for March 2025, I’m eagerly waiting to see if we’ll get a sneak peek of Switch 2 games during the announcement, or perhaps they’ll be unveiled shortly thereafter.
