What to Expect From the Assassin’s Creed Franchise in 2025

2021 has been a challenging year for Ubisoft. Despite their well-known brand, recent releases such as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Skull and Bones have failed to make an impact, leaving fans underwhelmed. The cancellation of The Division Heartland and the disappointing Star Wars Outlaws didn’t help either. To add to these woes, over 700 employees were let go, including some of those behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – one of Ubisoft’s few bright spots this year. Now more than ever, Ubisoft needs a hit game like Assassin’s Creed.

At present, there are at least six significant Assassin’s Creed game projects underway within Ubisoft studios. It might be prudent for the publisher to unveil a few of these upcoming titles soon.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Set to Release in February 2025

Initially scheduled for a November release, the upcoming installment in the “Assassin’s Creed” series, titled “Assassin’s Creed Shadows“, has been pushed back from its original launch date due to unforeseen circumstances. Now, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is slated for release on February 14, 2025, a month that promises a flurry of video game releases.

As the launch date for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” swiftly approaches, fans are well-versed in the upcoming game’s features. After years of speculation and anticipation, players will finally embark on an adventure set in the Sengoku period Japan. They will take on the roles of two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. Unlike Naoe, who employs a stealth-focused approach, Yasuke is more adept at combat. The game promises another expansive world to traverse, teeming with side missions and hidden treasures.

Ubisoft Has Multiple Assassin’s Creed Projects in Development

Assassin’s Creed Jade Might Resurface in 2025

Back in September 2022, I got wind of an exciting new addition to the Assassin’s Creed series – Assassin’s Creed Jade, exclusively designed for mobile gamers. This time around, we’ll journey back to 3rd Century BC China and step into the shoes of a protector, shielding its people from the relentless Xiongnu, a nomadic tribe known for their raids across China. For the first time in this franchise, players like me will have the opportunity to design our very own unique character!

Originally slated for a 2023 launch, Assassin’s Creed Jade has been pushed back. As reported by GameSpot in March 2024, the anticipated release date for Assassin’s Creed Jade is now tentatively set for sometime in 2025.

Assassin’s Creed Hexe Could Get Another Teaser in 2025

Since September 2022, we haven’t heard anything new about “Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe”. The initial trailer for this game suggested a more ominous tone compared to previous games, with a focus on the Holy Roman Empire during the infamous witch trials. It’s possible that a full reveal for “Assassin’s Creed: Hexe” might occur in 2025.

Assassin’s Creed Invictus Could Get a Reveal in 2025

As a dedicated fan of the Assassin’s Creed series, I can tell you that I have been eagerly awaiting any news about the upcoming game, codenamed Invictus. With my years of playing and immersing myself in this universe, it is frustrating to see so little information available about the new installment. While rumors and leaks have started to surface, a cinematic teaser remains elusive, leaving fans like me hanging on for more updates. However, I am hopeful that we will get some glimpse of Assassin’s Creed: Invictus in 2025, perhaps during the Ubisoft Forward event in the summer. Until then, I will continue to keep a close eye on any developments and remain optimistic about this new addition to the franchise.

The “Animus Hub,” formerly known as “Assassin’s Creed Infinity,” is an upcoming live-service platform planned to house all future Assassin’s Creed games. While not officially confirmed, there are strong indications that the “Animus Hub” will debut alongside the game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

An Assassin’s Creed 4:Black Flag Remake Could Be On The Horizon

For nearly a year, whispers about a potential remake of “Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag” have been buzzing around. As suggested by a report from Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming in October, the rumored “Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag” remake was initially set for a release date in November 2025. However, delays in “AC Shadows” might have affected this timeline. If the remake is indeed happening, fans can only hope for an official unveiling next year.
